New release suggestions (was 'Fillers')

Postby Paul @ Warlord Games » Tue Dec 02, 2008 1:53 pm

As we start to make sense of the huge numbers of boxes full of moulds, masters, stiock, paperwork, etc that we moved from Portsmouth to Nottingham we're also starting to formulate plan for the future. Whilst we're not ready to reveal all yet it's no secret that we want to fill gapos in the current range before moving on to other things. We already have a comprehensive list of missing elements but to ensure nothing drops through the gaps we'd like your help! Please take the time to post here with what is missing from the current ranges. We're not bothered about 'there's no Women's Auxiliary Balloon Corps' or 'you don't do Chindits'. We do want to hear what you think is missing from our current Fallschirmjaeger range though.Over to you...Cheers,Paul

Fallschrimjagers: Supply Cannisters, Machine Guns, 5cm Mortars to start. The MGs and Mortars will be needed to make a full platoon. 8cm mortars to make a weapons platoon along with crew served MGs. Oh, didn't they have their own cool field guns too?

Oh, and we'll need some Aussies or Brits in tropical kit for them to fight, I've always wanted to game Operation Merkur. I believe your already set with the Matilda IIs.

The BAM FJs are based on those of the Ardennes period so would not use either the 50cm mortar or drop cannisters. But 80cm mortar and gun crews were on our list.

Alrighty, then. LW Fallschirmjager it is. Normandy and/or Ardennes.

1 - 4 x Jager w/MP40. In helmets. 2 in "NCO" type poses.

2 - 4 x Tankhunters (1 x 2-man Panzershreck team, 2 men /Panzerfaust)

3 - sMG42 pack - 3 Jager w/ static MG42

4 - 8cm mortar + 3 crew

5 - Gun crew (for Pak 40)

Pure luxury

6 - 4 x Jager w/"other weapons" - 2 x Gew 43, 1 x Sten SMG, 1 x M1 Garand or M1 carbine.

7 - 3 crew plus the funky little ATG that they pull around on sleds

Really, really want packs 2, 3, 4 and 5. Please. Pretty please?

Ah, go on.

If they are based on Ardennes, then they *really* need MGs. Sorry for the mistake, the pics are kinda small. Did anyone still have FG42s that late in the war? So much for beefing up my Foundry guys...oh well, they have nobody but Home Guard to fight anyway.

And who wants to use Paras as regular old infantry? Wink

I have one thing I want.

Moving HMG teams for every range that has a HMG pack in it.

That is all! Laughing

A pack of german NCO with SMG in Greatcoat should be great. They missed when I did my Heer platoon.http://perrysheroes.free.fr/spip.php?article3Olivier

Hi,

I think most of the 'needed' FJ stuff is already coverd.

As for 'nice to have' figures I'd throw in the following

  1. FJ tank riders, particularly for the king tiger model.
  2. 7.5cm or 10.5cm recoilless guns. (not sure how suitable they are for Normandy.
  3. Crew for the 3.7cm Pak36 (Hmmm...band of brothers)
  4. Pioneers, flamethrower atc....
  5. Crew for the Flak88 (didn;t the FJ have their own 88s towards the end of the war).

Thats all for now.

Hi guys - great stuff so far.

I think you might have misunderstood my intial post though. When I said we wanted to hear about our FJ range I was using that as an example. I meant we don't want to hear about new ranges - just gaps in ones we already make.

So feel free to keep the FJ comments coming but we also want to hear about the rest of the range (US airborne, Red Devils, Poles, SS, Finns, etc...)

Cheers,

Paul
