Ah, to be free from the shackles of anal retention. I hate that about myself sometimes. I think I got as far as understanding that a vehicle in 'D' squadron, for example, would have a name starting with 'D' - Diana, Doris, Drake, etc.. and that there are also divisional symbols. But it all gets a bit hazy after that, plus of course there's always going to be a bit of research required to find out what divisions were in (for example) Tunisia in '43, what regiments, what tanks they had, what was the camo scheme, what the vehicles names were ... AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I do like vehicles to look like a snapshot with unit, names, etc, but can live with not.

We'll soon have our own range of vehicle and infantry decals but for an urgent solution Bruce at Company B is where I'd head.

I've just received an order of decals from Company B.... vehicle and personnel 'badges' etc.... looking REALLY good.... colours solid and well in-register! For wargaming use I will be keeping my American and German vehicles as generic as possible... the white stars on Sherman tanks were often painted-out or obscured with mud soon after their arrival in Normandy as they were found to be excellent aiming-points for the German A/T guns! The Regiment-specific markings on German vehicles tended to be quite small in most cases... the official ones anyway! With extra stowage and various types of improvised extra 'armour' plus the ineveitable dirt build-up, they were difficult to see anyway!
