I think they are intended for Airbrushing, right down to the fact that the jars and lids are compatible with suction bottles for airbrushes.
They are good for skin highlighting on larger models, though.
Let them eat Static.

I have used Tamiya Flat White, brushed on for undercoating in the past and found that it obscured fine details :(

On the subject of wet palettes,If I could just go slightly off topic for a moment I find their use really useful. I do sometimes have a problem with breaking through the damp greaseproof paper when mixing though. Also dumb question- but which side of the grease proof paper do you put the paint on I presume it is the non-shiny side is that correct?

@BA Barrukas- Maybe Vallejo Green Grey 70.886 mixed with a bit of black or black green 70.980 might be a good way to paint those scarves :)

@westwaller - Sounds like you may have the wrong type of greaseproof, I just use the cheap stuff on rolls from the supermarket and it's a similar sort of satiny finish on both sides. It never breaks through. I have one here I made before the weekend and It's still hard to even tear the greaseproof.

@Comte Michel, It is the brown stuff that is from the supermarket, I pinch it from my Wife's baking cupboard...I just find that sometimes when I mix two or more colours on the palette, with the stirring action, the end of my brush sometimes works its way through. I will have to look around to see if you can get different types of paper...

I think what you guys refer to as grease paper we here call waxed paper. I never thought of that before, thanks.. As far as paints I was a long time enamel painter because of the dioramas Ive had plenty of time for them, but wargamming pieces have to be done in masses so that luxury is gone. Thank goodness the book is not comming out till september at the rate im getting these minis done I dont know if ill be ready. I probably should have kept it simple with Heer and American regulars but I had to go with Jagers 3 types of cammo and US Airborne lots of detail. AArgg just shot myself in the foot.

Brown? Hmmm... I don't know what that might be but the stuff I use is basically white and slightly translucent. Well, not really slightly. It's almost like tracing paper.

Thanks @Comte Michel, It kind of works, but I will seek out the other type. Luckily we have a specialist baking supplies shop just up the road!
