Postby 2close2theflame » Thu Apr 26, 2012 6:35 pm

im trying to learn some zulu words and such for game purposes, but i cant seem to find anywhere that has a pronunciation for the language. i have found online dictionaries and the like. does anyone know of a vocal translator like the google translator has? where i can type in a word or sentence and it gives a vocalized translation? the google translator doesnt do zulu as far as i can figure out. thanks. :P

One of the Ian Knight books has a description on how to pronounce Zulu words in it, unfortunately I can't remember which as I've packed it away ready for moving, I'm sure someone else here will know.

Try these:

Learning Zulu or Xhosa is difficult because of the various clicks. Different clicks put different meanings on the same word. Anything "hl" is like "ll" in Welsh, but that is about all you can say in text. Good luck with learning the language.

lol thanks, i was just learning specific words and terms to use during gaming. some reason its one of my quirks to like to use an army's proper terms for form, actions and orders and such. this one has been the hardest yet !thanks to everyones input! :D
