The other issue might be the tendency to wear the uniform with the collar un-buttoned – often unbuttoned a long way down! Also the light weight 1943 jungle uniform shirt was much longer than the European BD uniform – almost a “smock” more than a blouse. This was often worn un-tucked and hanging out.
