ParticipantHey guys,
So I´m planning in doing a winter themed diorama for the painting competition.
The diorama will include a StuG with a couple of riders, alongside a small river. Thats the plan at least 🙂
Here are som pics of the progress so far.
The StuG is more or less finished. Just add some stowage that I´m working on, and also a couple of riders and some antennas.

ParticipantWow, Looks great! The face painting, the small details (like the photo on the hatch), the weathering of the STUG….everything masterly done.

ParticipantVery nice work. Many Details.
So many lovely ones that I dare to ask:
The Waffenfarbe at the Schiffchen, is it infantry White instead of Sturmartilerie red?August 4, 2018 at 10:44 am #142619Peter Motas
ParticipantThank you guys! Much appreciated! Started on the ground work and will soon post some pics of the progress.
@Invisible officer, well spotted 🙂 It should of course be red and not White. I´ll change it later on.Thanks for pointing it out!

ParticipantStunning. Difficult to imagine that is a 28mm! Among the many lovely details I really like the wood effect on the rifle.

ParticipantThanks!
I actually had some problems with how I wanted to paint the rifle. So this was the result after the second attempt.
Glad you like it!August 7, 2018 at 8:36 am #142797invisible officer
ParticipantWell done. Most K 98 had massive oiled walnut , only late war Schichtholz ones got made showing layers of Wood.
Not many walnut trees left in Germany in 45.More important is the metal. German rifles got brüniert (“browned”, in fact a dull black finish) . Never “Gun metal”. Hard use could rub a a bit away at the most used parts but the Waffenmeister of front units was reponsible to add new “Brünierung” to it.
Your rifle metal looks good.

ParticipantThanks mate!
Interesting info!
A short update on the dio:
-Poured some resin on the area where the river will be. Should be cured tomorrow evening and we´ll see the results.
