German chaplain and medical personnel

Nice idea to have a Wehrmachtsgeistlicher for the force.

The uniform differed only by “Waffenfarbe” from officers. Violet on the collars and a cap eagle over a cross. No shoulder boards!

Heeresdienstvorschrift 373 / 18.06.1941 regulated the field clothing. In normal service the breast cross was worn tucked away between 2nd and 3rd button into Feldbluse. It was worn hanging only in religious service.
Protestant one plain, Catholic with Christ.

The Armbinde / Brssard was rarely worn in the East but was common in the West. But only at front line.

In Bulge book chaplains got no offensive weapon. But like medical officers they got an “Offiziersseitenwaffe”, a pistol. Only intended for self-defense and rarely worn at the front.
The special rule for German Feldgeistliche on p. 55 allows the use against assaults in close quarters.
