Shaken and Unshaken units in a Broken Battalia

Played a game the other night, and got confused about what happens to units in a broken Battalia. In particular, the rules says that “unshaken” units morale is reduced to 6. So what happens to “shaken” units are there morale also 6?

Another interesting question! We’ve always played they all units in a broken battalia have Morale changed to 6+. It is rarely a problem as Shaken units have to start withdrawing and it is mainly the unshaken ones that you may end up having to fight.

I agree it is confusing wording as it stands.
