I honestly can’t remember the answer to this one. Mainly because I don’t use elephants and don’t come across them very often. It was answered on the old forum before it was replaced by this one.
I have a feeling that you count them as cavalry, just because they are animals and can be unpredictable. I suspect that the same goes for camels, too.
You see, while it could be argued that the elephant has infantry on board, they certainly aren’t going to be able to stop the elephant when it decides its had enough!
