The Japanese Banzai Rule allows a Japanese Infantry unit to run at the closest visible enemy and shed a pin marker. Units in a Transport do not have line of sight so they cannot assault from a transport vehicle. So can a Japanese Infantry unit Banzai from a transport?

However, I read the rule to say that you run at the closest visible enemy and since there is no line of sight from vehicle you cannot banzai out of a vehicle.

What he is suggesting (running out of a transport) would come under the final paragraph of the rule:
“Note that a unit can be ordered to Run/Charge in another direction, but in that case it will follow the normal rules and the Banzai Charge rule has no effect.”August 31, 2022 at 10:14 am #188145SteveTParticipantRules are pretty clear . No assaults from vehicles
Under DISMOUNTING FROM TRANSPORTS
“Although a unit can use a Run action to dismount from a vehicle, it is not allowed to use this move to make an assault upon an enemy in the same turn”
