Rangers Lead the way setup

The “Rangers lead the way” rule states that after deployment is complete, the Ranger Platoon may make an extra move. How about Mission 3 where the units are moved onto the field in waves. Can the Ranger Platoon move beforehand because there is no setup?

If allocated to first wave, yes. If allocated to reserve, no.

See p131, Playing a Game of Bolt Action, Scenario Special Rules, Setting up Observers and Snipers. Rangers get a mention in the third para. There are also a couple of ‘Rangers Lead the Way’ questions and answers in the FAQ.
