You don’t need to use a Generic Reinforced Platoon to get unhistorical lists.  A Panther tank and panzerfausts are available to Romanians in 1941 in the theatre selections due to lazy list writing.  The theatre selectors in the army lists should be more accurate to stop Soviets using captured panzerfausts in Stalingrad.  These unhistorical examples are in the theatre selections in the main army books, so you don’t need to use a generic platoon to use them.  But I agree the campaign books themselves are much more accurate.
