    Thought I make a list here of known changes and where the information is coming from!  Please add when you notice something and I’ll update the list.

    Campaign books wont be replaced, but will only be useful for history and the scenarios – New Edition Announcement Article April
    Most units, equipment options from the campaign books will be added in to the core rules or Armies of… books – New Edition Announcement Article April
    Armies of…. books to be released quarterly with new models – German book announcement
    German army book due release January – German book announcement
    American army book due release April – Amazon prime preorder
    Points are changing -New Edition Announcement Article April
    The default pltn has become 6, more routed in historical actuality – Article July
    Default points will be 1250 – Jugganaughts podcast
    Cover saves are in – Infiltration rule
    Green rule has changed and been made clearer (only on a 6 now)- screen shot from rulebook web item
    Engineers now have a rule that’s combined stuff from a couple of campaign books – screen shot from rulebook web item
    There’s a new rule called infiltrators which does stuff – screen shot from the rulebook web item
    MMGs and HMGs now have a base of 6 shots – cards seen in the pre-order 2 player set.
    ALL MGs on Vehicles half shots unless flack shooting aircraft – MG Article
    Pistols have lost assault – MG Article
    Small team and exceptional damage rules removed – MG Article

    The removal of the exceptional damage rules seems odd. We are going to end up with all the special weapons being the last to die. Perhaps they have reworked the concept as something else. Hope so.  And removing assault from Pistols makes them kind of pointless. But I suppose they wanted to address massive units of pistol wielders.

    When one of the vocal questions has been why cant loaders pickup the squad weapon, I can see why it was removed…. and WL have said on FB that they are gone not reworked & re-named!

    Pistols losing assault, well tough fighter was 1 point, pistols were 1 point to gain tough fighter & a 6″ ranged shot… so again I can see why remove it.

    No long range

    Basic to hit is now 4+

    Roll to damage is still there between the roll to hit and the cover save.

    Wondering if there are multiple pin counters allowed now? I know it says -1 to hit if pinned (a digital on/off state). But they still could keep units with multiple pins, just means harder to clear the pins.

    yeah it sounds like multiple pins are still around for orders and such, but the shooting is just do you have pins.

    So an officer with a pistol taking potshots at a squad, has the same effect on the squad’s accuracy as a heavy howitzer hit. Hmm…

    ability to act – no
    chance to run away – no
    potential casulties – again no….

    BUT as we dont have a time frame for a turn / order activation i’m ok with that because we have no idea how many shots a RoF 1 actually is!  BA is a game with a historical skin, not a simulation with a gaming skin as it were…

    I was looking at the new “simplified” Hit Modifiers Table.  There’s a -1 for inexperienced troops.  I’d like to know why veterans don’t get a +1.  I could see veteran troops being more likely to hit a target, as well as having better morale and being tougher to kill….

    Yes, it does seem odd. I think skill is often overlooked those on who focus on hardware. It is why this (and many other WW2 games) will never recapture the results that we know happened such as  1 Tiger taking out X Russians.

    They might argue, poorly, that their increased longevity means they are around to fire more and score more kills, but ..meh.
