45 years of club wargaming across pretty much all genres. A few years of game mechanics design (computer aided wargaming). I picked up Bolt Action in version 2 after seeing it at a convention where they pointed to failing eyesight for their move away from 15s. Stopped playing Bolt Action 2 after becoming frustrated with a few of the rules, but pretty then only because the rules were often hard to read even when not buried away in a sea of text; perhaps I was spoilt growing up with Squad Leader. Becoming quickly frustrated with the new version for the same reason.
