Thanks everyone!  Had fun making them, I have videos scheduled out until March 6th.

No,  their rules dont state that they have to be deployed… so (IIRC) the concensouse on FB groups is just having them in your list is enough

The advanced deployment is usually only Snipers and Artillery Spotters.

Otherwise units must have a special rule that allows  advanced deployment – Russian Scouts for example.

Recce has no effect on deployment at all.

If allocated to first wave, yes.  If allocated to reserve, no.

See p131, Playing a Game of Bolt Action, Scenario Special Rules, Setting up Observers and Snipers.  Rangers get a mention in the third para.  There are also a couple of ‘Rangers Lead the Way’ questions and answers in the FAQ.

Recce has no special rules/consideration for deployment – it’s the same as any other unit without special rules in that respect.

1. Yes, you have to roll for Turret Jam unless you’ve house-ruled to ignore that rule.  If the problem is that it’s missing, that’s probably a first edition sheet.

2. Sounds like a first edition to second edition difference – check the date on the page, I’m guessing the player’s aid you’re using is prior to Nov 2016 and meant for first edition.
