Where in the rules does it say they can’t?
Now, there might be a special scenario rule where it says they can’t, but according the to core rules, units (infantry and artillery) with a down order can capture/hold/deny an objective.

This is the command vehicle with the 28mm squeeze-bore Panzerbusche. I can’t find it in the new Armies of Germany book, or as an option on the app, though it’s possible I have not looked in the right place. I guess I can work out the points value based on the v2 version, and the rules for the squeeze-bore are in AoG for the weapon used as a plain…[Read more]

@L.T. Russel – AoUS third edition pre-orders have already reached quite a few people. The 57mm and 75mm RCLs are one entry and other than lacking the gun shield option, are the same as a light howitzer – missed opportunity to make them an infantry team.

Howdy Michael! What are you referring to? The basic Version 3 book doesn’t mention the US recoilless rifles at all. The Version 3 Armies of the United States isn’t out yet. I got out my Version 2 Armies of the United States and it looks like the only difference between a 57mm and a 75mm RR is the points cost and the HE effect. Is there some…[Read more]

@Michael – also note your reference image for the FG42 doesn’t suggest the effective range is only 300m, it states that they weren’t able to get meaningful results beyond that range due to conditions on the day, then goes on to say ‘… although analysis of the following indicates that no critical deviations are anticipated at longer ranges.

Has anyone else seen the new new 28mm WW2 Late War German Infantry & Heavy Weapons (1944-1945) by Victrix? They are looking really good, and blend is so well with Perry figures that maybe they were planned that way. Anyway, I sure hope they consider making some early to late war German…[Read more]

@Michael – Please do not depend on a single source, and if you do, please check out the best source available called, “Death from Above: The German FG42 Paratroop Rifle” by Thomas Dugelby and Blake Stevens.

Howdy Michael! You’re basing your assertion on what? Both the FG42 and the BAR utilize a full-length rifle cartridge. This is the primary difference between assault rifles and automatic rifles. Both weapons are magazine-fed and have bipods. I don’t there’s any appreciable difference in “effective range” between weapons firing 7.92mm and .30-…[Read more]

It was used more like a Bazooka with a 2 man crew and primarily for direct fire He and WP it should be more like a direct fire mortar

It didn’t have the same effective range so the assault rifle is probably the best fit.

When I first saw someone complain about this on a Facebook site I didn’t know whether it was a joke or a complain from someone with an obnoxious case of button counter syndrome. Seriously, the hobby community doesn’t need this level of anal retention. I suggest you look elsewhere for your hobby kick. – Ben.

I am very excited about this range and the figures look great. Do they realize that all the bayonets are backwords? Once you notice it, it’s hard to not see the glaring flaw. I suppose I can simply clip them all off… but lets try to be better next time boys.

Thank you all for your input. I like BA it might not be up to the perfect standard to reality but works for introducing new players to the hobby and gives a fun experience.
