  • Bits from Albion Triumphant 2 – Certainly the army lists are fully lifted.

I’ve not checked 100%, but at least one of the scenarios looks to be the same (of 5 in the new Epic book).

All the pictures and information boxes are Waterloo rather than other periods/conflicts which is nice.

Worth getting the new rules IMHO.

  • You are right concening the “true” dazzle ones that are not used on new or repaired ships post spring 45.

Unfortunately some USN officers  used the word dazzle for non dazzle camo, sometimes even  for solid designs in correspondance . Some seem to have had  problems with measures that included different colors or shades, naming them wrongly da…[Read more]

  • Just a thought. Just noticed this post incredibly late. I also live in Japan. Sounds like you are being charged custom import fees, via Fedex, for an order of that size. There is a fine line between qualifying for free post from Warlord and getting slammed by Japanese customs; Bringing in a parcel worth more than 10,000 yen could invite the duty…[Read more]

  • … or the one sentence that’s actually the rule in the paragraph be in bold (preceded by fluff, followed by example, both of which have been mistaken for rules).

The USN used dazzle schemes for probably a year and a half (or less), and even then compliance was somewhat erratic.  Pacific fleet implemented the schemes in late ’43.  The Atlantic fleet waited until the following year.  Then in early 1945 the fleet started painting over the schemes.  The primary opponent had changed from ships to airplanes, and…[Read more]

  • And so we come back to an old complant ….that is the mixing of fluff and rules together in what should be a rules paragraph, I mean if the fluff/backgroup part was in italics then it would be easier to see whats rules and whats not!

  • Agree with Nat – “In other words they are allowed to make an advance move and if they don’t shoot then the Sissi can turn their dice to Ambush.”  They are on an Advance order up until the moment they decide not to shoot and turn their dice to Ambush.  That means they are not on an Ambush when moving, they can’t react by going down.

In current up-to-date errate of K47 “fist” is removed from “assault” special rules of Automated Mobile Platform.

“AMPs are treated as armored vehicles for damage purposes so if penetrated, roll on the vehicle damage table.” – K47 Errata, Updated May 04 2020.

  • The difference between super-heavy AT (SH-AT) and heavy rail gun (HRG) is that SH-AT shares same rules what other AT guns have (being one with longest range and highest PEN value out in the AT gun line), while HRG is a rail gun…

    errrmmm…

HRG is like SH-AT without “HE D3” and cannot suffer PEN drop for shooting in a long range… and after…[Read more]

  • Now THIS sounds interesting…!

  • no… the Finns our on an advance order, at the end of movement instead of firing they swap the dice to AMBUSH

your ambush works on their movement… they are not on an ambush dice so cant go down.  More to the point even IF they could  they would stop in the open!

  • Hoping someone can clarify the Finnish Master of the Hunt rule. It reads:

“Master of the Hunt: as very experienced hunters, the Sissi can move into an Ambush position. In other words they are allowed to make an advance move and if they do not shoot then the Sissi can turn their dice to Ambush.”

  • Charles replied to the topic Shooting and Cover in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 8 months ago

Yes, at least that’s the way I read it and how we play it locally. Page 57 says shooters, not figures. The figures behind the building can’t shoot and aren’t shooters because they don’t have line of sight. Cover is worked out as to how it affects the eligible shooters and assuming the enemy squad is not in any cover. When the squad in the open…[Read more]

  • I don’t know, to be honest, because I am not doing Naps in another scale. I do have the ACW version and that has some from the Glory Hallelujah supplement, including a couple of scenarios.

However, it shouldn’t matter because the rules haven’t really changed. The game is still the same, just a different scale. So, you just play it as you alway…[Read more]

  • I understand the starter set comes with a modified rules set.  Does it included some of the ideas from the older Black Powder  suppliments? Clash of Eagles. etc

    Cheers

  • Well, dazzle schemes got altered but not just painted over. There are books like the ones from Terzibaschitsch that state the scheme for the WW II times by month.

I did years ago in 1/3000 all Philipine seas US ones in correct schemes.

And have many models in 1/1250-

For the Japanese carriers some Polish books are very good. And also about…[Read more]
