That’s too bad.  Then LAP turns into Dive Away when you play it with Great Dive. It would be nice to have the option to just discard the bonus card to retain the doctrine card instead of being required to play it.

Thanks for the clarification.  The narrative mentions point blank, but I’ve learned to ignore the narratives as the actual rules and characteristics don’t follow them.

I was speaking to some Warlord guys over the weekend and they mentioned the first batch of Midway Starter Sets were now in Nottingham, so should be in peoples hands “soon”

The wording is “Both cards take effect – if applicable” – (Midway Pg 22) so you have to apply Great Dive.

Whatever isn’t ‘Long Range’.  Bolt Action has a perpetual problem with supplement authors using their own paraphrasing and not having a continuity editor to check before publication.

so if you move all your vehicles before releasing the dog mine, then if you roll a 1 nothing happens since there are no stationary vehicles on your side?

@Stuart….. intresting take.  As the wording doesnt say nearest eligible vehicle, and its not being targeted I’ve always read it as the closest soviet vehicle irrespective of order die gets a dog run under it.  Kinda like how you pick a unit to be shot when your firing unit FUBARs…. the proximity is the only targeting restriction.

Your only dealt trouble is your loss of order dice

if your opponent manages to kill the remaining inex dog handlers after they have fired and the jeep is now closer to the enemy, you loose 2 order dice.
Also if you roll a 1, your jeep gets a new set of fury wings as the closest friendly vehicle
