Thye were core of Late Persian army with many units present.

Generally no unless you’re using the optional rules in Appendix II, p215. The main thing to consider when proposing this is interaction of national rules, particularly rules which affect the whole game not just individual units.
Even that is intended for multi player games, not for a single force. There are a couple of specific s…[Read more]

I create scenarios based on historical events and was wondering if you can combine two national armies/forces together (Italian and German)? In Russia, the Italian Army Expeditionary Corps had the German 318th Infantry Regt and 10th Panzer regiment fighting together and fielding PzKpfw IIIs and IVs. This joint Italo-German force was led by an…[Read more]

I think its more that they are Roman Heavy cavalry, but in rules they are only classified as medium so as not to put them level with true heavy cavalry such as Cataphracts or plate armoured knights.

I have a clarification question The Romans contents in the Hannibal set list that they have light and heavy Calvary- is heavy a misprint that should be medium? I ask because the army lists in the book all call for latin or latin allied medium calvary. Thanks much from a new player!

Oh yeah there is something in Campaign: The Western Desert in the section DESERT COMBAT SPECIAL RULES.
The following rules apply to a hull down vehicle:
• There is a -2 modifier to all shots against the vehicle from the front arc, including indirect fire. • If a vehicle has a turret, then only turret-mounted weapons may fire.
• A turre…[Read more] -

Sounds like a variation of the Hull Down rules from Western Desert, p161-162.
If the vehicle has a turret, only turret mounted weapons can fire. If turretless, you may choose one weapon to fire.
I haven’t bought into Achtung Panzer so can’t comment if it’s from there. Another possibility would be a rule we haven’t seen yet from V3 – where d…[Read more]

You are correct, it’s in one of the North Africa books for the desert warfare.

I think this might be the wrong forum. Sounds like Achtung Panzer or something?

Hi all,
Maybe I missed it but the turretless rules stat e “A Turretless vehicle that is classed as Hull Down may still fire its main gun.” I couldn’t find anywhere that prevented a turreted hull down vehicle from firing its main gun. Any ideas or did I simply skip a rule?

Given no exceptional damage, I wonder how they are going to allow a chance of taking a leader out for non-snipers. It is going to be comical if a HE burst always just leaves the leader and special weapons men standing there (and, yes, I know in 3E that of the others automatically finds that LMG and prises from the burned body of his dead…[Read more]

“not all snipers have the TEAM rule” – not a change. Polish marksman and Japanese lone sniper (unless he takes LMG option) come to mind as current examples of one man sniper units that don’t suffer the Team rule.

Snipers: – +1 to hit
same 12-36″ range on a fire! or Ambush order
ignore cover saves
+1 to wound infantry /artillery crew
can pick out officers / unit leaders
not all snipers have the TEAM rule
snipers are the unit leader-1 for loss of loader still around
if unit leader dies, loaders can pickup the weapon -

Going to make some (educated*) guess, but theres a lot of overheads that a UK company will have to pay for sending goods outside of the UK- so they spread the costs over all the individual items….
These overheads include
Import /export taxes – even to & from the EU now!
Exchange rate at the time the prices are set – if the Pound is weak…[Read more] -
