Wow , those look great , but they’re not the troops I was thinking of , it was a box of regular Russian troops that was being converted . But now this article has got me thinking about working on some winter Russians , I hope my Green Stuff hasn’t dried out

Back on the old forum , someone was converting plastic Russian infantry into female Russian troops with various bits of Green stuff and IRC some after market heads . Is he still out there ? Did he ever complete his troops ? I’m going to try the same type conversion to add some variety to the Bad Squido troops I all ready have and was hoping to g…[Read more]

The word you are looking for is consistency – something the organic nature of the game is missing.
the issue is simple, it’s not written as a pickup war game….easy campaign book is written separately and looked at separately. So if the author thinks that a unit or equipment should be portrayed differently they redo it (see trenches, dr…[Read more]

Totally agree, even then it might be a bit much given that they also get two extra combat dice. The average +2 to combat resolution is equivalent to 5 extra combat dice, so all together it is like being attacked by two normal units.

Hi everyone, just to say I really like Bolt Action, it is the wargame I play the most (by far). This is not a criticism of the rule set or of Warlord Games.
I’ve just received my copy of D-Day, the American Sector. From my read through it looks interesting and I’ll be playing with certain elements in my games – although I play the Eastern Front…[Read more]

The only thing I would add is Heavy Cavalry with the 1D3 modifier is reserved for the truly elite heavy cavalry. In contrast, what was once called “Heavy” Horse or “Heavy” Dragoons get the +1 modifier. The term “heavy” referring more to the horse, than the soldier.

Yes the example given following my quotation spells it out. Yesterday, I refought Venta del Pozo and the French lost a third of their force when a squadron of Gendarmes broke, quickly followed by both supports! Three scores of 4 or less in a row!
Best regards
