“DDay campaign books especially US beach” – I was only able to find anything in a single theatre selector, D-Day: Overlord, p176, US Beach Landing Reinforced Platoon, Special Rules, Fortification Assault Training – Bazookas get a +1 to hit vs bunkers and buildings, and a 1″ HE vs bunkers and buildings.

But it was mentioned for AT-Guns fireing at Vehicles : All Anti Tank guns get an additional +1 modifier to hit vehicles when shooting with a fire order (including Ambush and reaction fire).

Currently there is nothing special for them. It’s just a normal shot with a high pen value and a low chance of hitting, no HE or anything special. Too early to comment if there’s any change coming with third edition next month.

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic AT Guns in HE role vs Infantry in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 4 months ago
AT guns use the same to hit mechanics as the general rules (direct fire) unless they have a version of the ‘versatile’ rule allowing them to fire as howitzers (eg: Soviet Zis 3). Range is as stated in the weapons chart – light AT/48″, medium AT/60″ etc. Mortars only fire indirect, Howitzers are the only weapons with a choice.
Effect if they h…[Read more]

Sadly, Michael is right. Whilst there was some support at the beginning, it doesn’t seem like anyone from the company has been here in years.
There is this thread from years back that Mr. Chambers was kind enough to comment on. It is for Strontium Dog, but since they basically share a rules set, it may answer some of your Dredd que…[Read more]

I am puzzled are AT Guns firing HE at Infantry operating in direct or indirect fire role? Do they operate the same as rifles or mortars? If they can operate in direct fire role, how does that affect their range and effect?

Hi,
Just got into Bolt Action. What are rules for using bazooka vs bunkers/mg nests, artillery positions & Infantry in Trench systems? There does not seem to anything in rules book?

Played a Zulu Wars game yesterday, and came upon a situation we had a disagreement on the proximity rule.
In the attached picture 1 I have shown the position of the relevant units. The units are Zulu (brown) and British artillery (A), Natives (B).
Unit 1 is disordered and B is shaken and part of a broken brigade.
It is the Zulu turn, and unit 2…[Read more]

yep….
As a general rule weapons break down to <40mm = Local X
40mm – 3.9″ guns = AA battery
4″-5.9″ = light guns
6″ + = turret gunsNow theres a few examples where some guns are used as a different catergory… but thats the general approach.

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic v3 Known Changes in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 4 months ago
Reaction fire already exists (close quarters procedure, target reacts), so that mention doesn’t say anything either way about changes to reaction.

Ah, I see. The 90mm give AA some range to punch. Lighter than DP.
Too bad they didn’t produce DP shells for those 6 inch and 4.7 inch guns.

So a Wardroom Errata to fix a few outstanding stat and rules issues:
Note 2 things havent been included – anything to do with flights and carriers plus range when touching because we’re hoping these will be addressed in a supplement that is in the works!

Now for some reason it looks like the Italians only produced DP rounds (shells) for their 3.9″ guns, not their 4.7″ ones – I’ve not looked in to it personally, but i’ve not heard anything about RM 4.7″ guns having DP available.

Nat replied to the topic Lottorio Class BB in the forum Victory At Sea 1 year, 4 months ago
DP is Dual Purpose Shells used in the light guns.. basically shells set with an altitude marker to explode at a certain hight.
The AA guns are the AA battery – those 12 x 90mm are what gives the ranged AA…

The Littorio class ships had twelve 90mm guns AA guns. Game wise this isn’t enough to warrant a DP stat?

For the 2nd time this year, a contingent of Bolt Action players from our store (White Knight Games & Hobbies in Helena, Montana) went to a Bolt Action tournament at Gajo Games in Salt Lake City and did well, taking 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 14th places. IIRC, the last article I saw on Warlord Games website, covering a Gajo Games tournament was…[Read more]

Howdy Nat! I haven’t seen the scenario for THE EAGLE HAS LANDED. Is this something from the Seelowe or Gigant books? IIRC, I’ve seen miniatures for M.A.S.H. I’ve got some from CROSS OF IRON and I’ve seen some for the Sven Hassel books. None-the-less, no one I know plays “Hollywood” scenarios….
Thanks Ian. The cliche is that you don’t…[Read more]
