If a flamethrower is used against troops in a building then the building catches fire on a roll of 4+ (D6). Even if the flamethrower misses the target, there is a chance the building can catch fire.
It is also important to note that a flamethrower can only be used against troops inside a building where there is a window, open door, or some other…[Read more]

You’d like to think, wouldn’t you.
It is quite possible that should the ACW thing take off, they may bring out Napoleonic in this scale, too.
Now, as you May know, Warlord have been vague on how to deal with distances with smaller scales, suggesting all of the things that you mentioned, without coming off the fence and declaring one or the oth…[Read more]

Just to be clear, I’m not thinking of ACW, it just peaked my interest because being roughly 15mm WG must have done some good research into how best to convert the BP rules.
On the subject of increasing artillery range, I’d heard similar about musket range too.
Cheers,
Nigel

I would just convert to centimetres because it is easier and you have no maths to work out. I don’t care how simple the maths is, not having to do any at all is always easiest!
If you’re going with the ACW sets, the base sizes have been sorted out for you. The only thing I would suggest and it is what I am going to do, is to reduce the number of…[Read more]

I play with 15mm figures and convert everything to centimetres. For the frontages I do as you suggested, convert to inches and change that to centimetres. Seems to work well. I make two other changes that work for me. With 15mm scale the normal 6×4 battlefield represents a bigger space and consequently I increase artillery ranges by 25%, as these…[Read more]

Are there any good recommendations for use BP rules (Napoleonic is my particular favourite) for 15mm.
I’ve tried googling, seen plenty of discussions and opinions but nothing really solid.
One suggestion is to use centimetres instead of inches – but unlear what should be done with frontages as these are expessed in mm in the rules – do you c…[Read more]

Hi all, could somebody please give me the stat line and point cost for French Curassiers?
I only own Albion Triumphant 1, and have a box of models sat doing nothing.
im aware they didn’t make contact with British troops (?) but better on the table top than in a box!
Thanks in advance,
John

Used doesn’t imply anything but ‘used’ to me. There is no suggestion of needing to score a hit/cause any damage to the target unit.
Reading more into things than is written is one of the biggest problems, not the rules themselves. It keeps tripping people up.

Same thing though, right? “used” could imply “Used successfully”. Otherwise future games are going to be a bonfire :p

It’s not even ‘shot at’, it’s “If a flamethrower is used against troops in a building then the building catches fire or D6 roll of a 4, 5, or 6…”.
As I read it, flamethowers are rightly lethal against the building, even if it does nothing to the troops inside directly by scoring a hit.

I have just watched several unboxing videos on YouTube for the epic acw starter set. All agree the starter set represents excellent value. They all also feel that the pricing of wave two and three is excessive. Now l dont expect Warlord games to suddenly reprice these items but it seems an opportunity lost. I and I am sure others will not be…[Read more]

We sure about this? I assumed the wording actually meant “Shot at” as “successfully shot at” as in “hit”.

What unit sizes should be used for this period? The seems to suggest that standard unt sizes are used, however, the unit packs from warlord seem to be half sized units.

I am thinking of collection an Austrian Napoleonic army, circa 1813/1814. Unfortunately they are not covered in any of the suplements. Does anyone have a suggestions on the rules to apply to an Austrian force?
Many thanks in advance
A.
