Battle of the Bulge page 25:
Aside from the exceptions detailed below, the Intelligence Officer is not a separate unit choice but an optional upgrade for an officer unit. Whereas the standard officer unit is allowed to be accompanied by up to 2 further men, the Intelligence Officer counts as a separate upgrade; in effect, a fourth man.
Based on…[Read more]

Also, don’t forget to read the errata for those pages – it makes it very clear you are still targetting the unit in the building despite the LOS line about ‘literally targetting the building’.

Exactly as Master Chief says, the only provision for targetting the actual building is for empty buildings (p126). Once the building is occupied, you are targetting a unit in the building (p124-125).

If I build a regular US platoon following the Battle of the Bulge selector and just attach an InR officer to the officer unit, does that count as an InR unit for the purpose of allowing the bazooka jeep selection?

Unless you were targeting the building …
If I recall correctly you can only target a building if it is empty. If there is an enemy unit inside you need to fire at that unit.

Unless you were targeting the building (pointless with most mortars as you need 10+ hits to hurt the building) then yes you need to start again as the target units foot print has moved more than 2″

Not by the rules. The only weapons with a provision to split fire are one shot weapons and indirect fire weapons.

Stuart Harrison replied to the topic Mortar Team Zeroing in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 10 months ago
By the rules, it starts again – your target, the unit, has left the building and you are now shooting at a new target which just happens to be in the same location.
Prime ground for a house rule, but important to understand the difference.

I don’t have any Warlord to compare to at the moment, but Steve, of Age of Glory Historical Miniatures, the U.S. distributor of Empress Miniatures, was kind enough to send me a couple of sample figures to compare with my Rubicon figures.
They are very nice, clean figures, but as you can see from the photo (Empress on the left, Rubicon on the r…[Read more]

Dear Comrades,
One more question and thanks for all your support …. my youngest 12-year-old son and me are having a blast battling each other 🙂
If a mortar team fires indirectly against a building where there is an enemy squad and you get a 6 and hit it. The next turns you will only need a roll of 2+. But if that enemy squad leaves the…[Read more]

Dear Comrades,
Another question came out in today’s game.
If I had a flamethrower within a squad, can the flamethrower fire at a targert and the rest of the men at a different target in a similar manner a the panzerfaust can?
Thanks

Steven Emsley started the topic AWI – Number of models in flank companies? in the forum Black Powder 4 years, 10 months ago
Hi all!
Just received my AWI British Starter Box and before I put glue to plastic I was wondering how many models people assigned to the flank companies? The infantry units would suggest that a unit of 30 would contain 6 light bobs, so would you build up 6 as grenadiers? That would leave the centre companies looking somewhat light, manpower-wise.…

It’s sounding like I have to have a regular platoon before I can then have an InR platoon or just pick one random InR unit to be able to get the bazooka jeep. Seems like I should be able to build an InR platoon as the campaign book discusses that, but the way the selectors are set up, I can’t unless it’s attached to another platoon. Does that…[Read more]

By my reading of the FAQ, the InR HQ is not an officer unit, it is an infantry squad, and as such does not meet the compulsory requirement for a lieutenant/second lieutenant HQ unit. I see it no differently than an observer team – it may have an officer in it, but it’s not an officer unit for bolt action purposes and can’t fill you compulsory p…[Read more]

Thanks. I didn’t see the FAQs on that before. I’m trying to build an ob for an upcoming game and want it to be “legal” I want to add a small infantry platoon to a tank platoon following a Battle of the Bulge theme. For the infantry platoon I was considering the following.
1 InR HQ of 3 men
2 InR Squads of 9 men
1 Twin Bazooka InR only jeep
