I sure hope so too. Warlord has been extremely silent on this game- mostly releasing their new fancy resin kits over the last several months.
This game had me just as excited as Bolt Action for a time, but the lack of support has been deafening. Lets hope there is something in the works.
SPQR is a great platform and I believe it has a lot of potential. -

I do hope so. Am six games into a great campaign between my son’s Romans and my Britons.
Support for SPQR seems to have dropped off. I love this game. It has its issues with the rules and if I thought Warlord would listen I would make some suggestions. I can only presume that it is because v2 is coming. I don’t blame them for delaying release unt…[Read more]

Hello everyone.
Heard a rumor from my FLGS that there might be a SPQR 2.0 in the works? Anyone heard that rumor or can confirm it? News has been slow getting across the pond to over here in the states.
Cheers.

Zaitsevs rules win… they are a definite 2+ irrespective of anything else… he ‘wounds’ vehicles on a 2+. Kieffers rules say that instead of a 5+ you need a 6+
So Kieffer changes the wound chart from 5+ to 6+, then Zaitesev changes it 2+ as he doesnt care about the starting value…. OR Zaitsev changes it from a 5+ to a 2+ then Kieffer CANT…[Read more]

Personally I’d like to see some of the Jeep Carriers and more cruisers for the USN. IJN I would have said Nagato but with there being no difference in Damage and AP between 14″ and 16″ guns(WHY?!), it’s fire power is basically equivalent to the Kongou’s. So probably the Ise Aviation refit for the sheer variety and maybe the Ryuho?

I’m pretty sure 1/48 is a lot closer to Bolt Actions infantry models scale than 1/56.
Because of the heroically really-over-sized body parts (but not height), I used to think this too. Check out this thread:

Thanks KAR98K …Yes good point about 3d prints….R do have some nice pieces in development. I like the idea that 3d and plastic kit markets are pushing both to do better.
and yeap waste not – lets use up those spares parts! Glad it helped to spark you onto something(get a picture up!)
But have you noticed the price of green stuff lately -…[Read more] -

Those look great. Well done. Also, your bargain bits creations gave me a few ideas. Thanks for sharing.
For those that do not have a 3d printer, and would like some LVTs, there is hope because Rubicon Models has a good line of these available for the miniature gamer.

I see that a previous question was raised re the colour(s) suggested as relevant for KPA forces. I’d like to enquire again, providing my general thoughts on the matter based upon research so far. I am not generally a figure modeller, so excuse my ‘non-specialist’ thoughts.
I’m interested in the colour(s) of the summer uniform, not the q…[Read more]

Well, not all games are for all people.
What a pity, I think it is one of the best tabletop wargames I ever played. It has a great, elegant, narrative-driven rules system with echoes from all the things I love of the old-style GW games (80s and early 90s), but with a modern and very innovate system.
It may seem a bit complicated at first, but…[Read more]

Hello. My name is Lewis. I live in Richmond, Va. I’ve completely burned out on HE and it’s products. Fortunately I get to play Battletech. And I have wanted to set into historical warming for awhile now. I have enjoyed Bolt Action and it’s now time to try Black Powder.

Played our first game today. Was not good at all. Points system is bizarrely unbalanced, way too many fiddly random modifiers and non-random modifiers. Assaults rules are far too unwieldy.
Wish it had the elegant simplicity of Bolt Action that effectively conquers all these things with less mental processing.
I came, I saw, I said “No”.

Sadurian Mike replied to the topic Landsknecht army, which miniatures do you use for cavalry? in the forum Pike & Shotte 4 years, 11 months ago
The horses from the Perry WotR range are great. You can use them with the optional plate barding or without, and it is relatively easy to add the distinctive ‘skirt’ sometimes seen on the heavy horse barding.
For the figures themselves, have a look at the Wargames Foundry range; “Pike and Shot: Early 16th Century Renaissance”. The human figures…[Read more]
