I’m just guessing, but what sounds reasonable to me is once all dice are played that turn, any unit in ambush wishing to try to shoot puts its die in the bag and draw. If your unit in ambush gets shot at first, it can pull its die to go down as a unit in ambush could have gone down. A unit in ambush that doesn’t put its die in the bag can also go…[Read more]

Rules say at end of turn, you have a 50% chance, if you wish to try it, of making a group with Ambush take a shot instead.
But in what order is this done?
We had 5 in Ambush and the order would have affected who shot what.

P67, Weapons, Weapon Special Rules, Flamethrower, second para – “If you score a hit with a flamethrower the number of hits is multiplied into D6 (or D6+1 in the case of vehicle mounted flamethrowers). Roll for damage as usual.”
You’ll note there is no mention of target unit type, so this applies to infantry artillery and vehicle targets, and no…[Read more]

Flamethrowers get multiple hits vs vehicles?! Didn’t realise that.

Lufthans started the topic Midway starter set release news? in the forum Blood Red Skies 4 years, 11 months ago
Hello! Watching this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUSvGfpC9f4 ) about the airstrike! release, I was wondering if there were any news concerning the release of the midway starter set with even more air-to-ground rules being mentioned in the video.
Are there any news about its contents or an aprroximate release date maybe?
Thanks -

1. This is correct. Even if you had not destroyed the tank it would have taken a morale test after D3+1 pins, so you could still remove it from the game.
2. Normally you cannot leave the table under any circumstances, so a unit moving due to a FUBAR would move to the table edge and no further (or along the table edge to get away from en…[Read more]

Hi,
This came up in a game today and was wondering if we did it right,
1. my flamethrower team advanced into point blank range of the side arc of a sherman tank armour 9, fired and rolled a 6 to hit, then rolled a d6 for the number of hits, rolling a 5, the flamethrower has a pen of +3 and gets +1 pen for hitting the side/top. So I proceeded to…[Read more]

You could try strips of paper soaked with diluted pva/wood glue. You could also try folding some kitchen foil in half and then cutting a strip. You could also try something like Evergreen Scale Models styrene strips which come in a variety of small sizes including 0.033″ and 0.043″ wide which would work.

As Nigel says , parts 14 are the arms for the AT rifle . The right holds the pistol style grip and the left is braced on the ground . I found all the rifle arms work with the LMG as it’s the same length as the rifles so the hands are in the right places . Personally the Russians are my favorite plastic set as the kit bash potential is f…[Read more]

The ATR rifle arms are called out – they are part number 14.
You are correct about the LMG though, from memory I used the rifle arms – but I do prefer not to use prone figures so I tend to have my LMGs being carried or being fired from the hips. But I have done some prone LMGs.
Cheers,
Nigel

I have previously built Japanese and USMC armies. With no one in the group having Soviets I decided to build a Soviet Army.
The Marines and Japs were pretty easy to get together, many of the figures I used arms with weapons attached, only had problems with the LMG and BAR figures.
With the Soviets you have to attach each arm and the weapon…[Read more]
