Interesting to see what you get in the box – thanks for sharing the video.

Hi George. I have never tried this, but I imagine the approach suggested is to print your own ‘transfer’, at the appropriate size, and apply. I think the varnish comes in as part of the transfer process. I believe that before applying transfers it is recommended to gloss varnish the painted model, then once the varnish is dry, it is easier…[Read more]

If you score a hit, one man dies on anything but a ‘1’ for the damage roll – there is no additional benefit from the overkill, no HE template.
Basically you only do it if there isn’t a better target to get move value from all that pen.

I think it’s mainly because irl the rockets used by those weapons are shaped charges where most of the explosion is focused at the tip of the rocket. These work by sending a jet of molten metal that is capable of penetrating armor at any range so long as you can hit the target. I believe they have a small explosion radius so it’s not very good…[Read more]

Good evening fellow tabletop warriors,
I have recently purchased a number of units both for the US Airborne and the German Heer, boosting my Band of Brothers starter.
Amongst them are a bazooka team for the US and a Panzerschrek team for Germany.I have read the rulebook(v2) front to back. port to starboard, but I find no mention of using heavy…[Read more]

@ Greg – like a lot of tactical advice, that’s situational. If the target unit is planning to assault the FT unit (either later this turn or you’re hoping for first dice next turn) you actually want that guy within 6″ when you charge – surprise charge negates reaction fire.

In this situation, the sensible casualty to remove is the first guy. Now the sqaud is out of range of the flamethrower next turn – assuming they survive 🙂

@ Jacob – it depends entirely on the wording in the specific scenario being used. If playing the beach landing scenario on P68 of Campaign: D-Day Overlord you are specifically required to divide your 1500 point army into two 750 point waves (first wave is actually on table deployment in the deep water zone, second wave corresponds with the…[Read more]

You are actually not restricted in how many units are in your first wave, at least for the scenarios in the core book. Reserves can consist of up to half your army but they can be smaller than that. If you wanted you could get your entire army on the board turn 1. Typically I wouldn’t recommend that since it’ll be more difficult to counte…[Read more]

Sounds correct to me – units embarked on a transport count as deploying with that transport.

This is questions that arose from an amphibious landing game, but applies to any situation with large transport units I suppose.
I have 2 landing craft each containing say 6 units.
First wave must consist of half my units, reserve wave then forming the other half.
I assume then I can only being 1 landing craft onto the map doing the first wave.…[Read more]
