it doesnt state that small arms cant generate more than 1 pin or have a PEN value, the rule book only states that heavy weapons do and so implies that small arms cant..
However there is more in favour of them being a heavy weapon than not*… so I’m going to leave it here and wait to see if an offical answer is ever made :p.. and be very suprised…[Read more]

Also, can we please discuss Depth Charge and Sub hunter availability?
Sure, not all DDs had good sonar. Sure, a Clemson probably cannot detect subs that are Running Deep. Sure, Japanese DDs were notoriously bad at detecting subs before a big ship went boom. Sure, I’d be happy to see variation in Sub Hunter availability.
Kindly explain to me why…[Read more]

*Devastating is a prime example of thisā¦. several of us read the different wording to mean the criticals on 5 +6s where auto successful, Matthew pointed out that they still needed confirming!
Wait what.
The starter rulebook and the beta rules explicitly say that Dev weapons score crits on 5 and 6.

re pins ā the number of PINs a RGA generates are by the HE rule, so there is nothing to stop a small arms weapon giving multiple PINs
Small arms fire is unable to generate multiple pins with a single shot.
re page 56, that says all heavy weapons have a PEN mod, not that only heavy weapons can have a PEN mod, also again the RGA doesn have a PEN v…

Hey Guys,
In the picture the red Infantry unit charges the blue Infantry unit and wants the Skirmish unit to support it in combat.
Can the skirmishers move with the Infantry to a support position as the Infantry charges, or does it have to wait until the next turn before it can move into support.
Our group has a couple of different…[Read more]

Devils advocate here (because I’m not to bothered either way, and I’m begining toĀ agree it looks like the RGA should be classified as a heavy weapon… )

Bolt Action 2nd Ed:
PINNED (page 39)
In the case of some particularly heavy weapons two or more pin markers can sometimes be scored against a target in one go.
ROLL TO DAMAGE (page 56)
Heavy weapons add a modifier to the damage roll, allowing for a score of greater than 6.
As the rifle grenade launcher fires as a light mortar with Pen…[Read more]

Hi all, Based in Lancashire and working on Montrose vs Covenanters and Jacobites in Lancashire 1715 projects at the moment. The latter is possibly more a game for black powder however I prefer the flexibility of pike and shotte batallia so may try playing the battle of preston with both rule sets!

I’ve asked this question on a FB group as well.. in purely rules terms is the rifle grenade adaptor classified as a small arm or a heavy weapon?
This effects if it can hurt armoured vehicles and do exceptional damage on artillery.

Dear All,
My name is Cameron, I am based in Lancashire and interested in all history post 1600. In terms of bolt action, the love of my life is my jatkosota Finns and Soviets (the terrain also makes a great Christmas village much to my housemates’ dismay).
I am currently working on a Danish army for a few 9. April 1940 games by converting…[Read more]
