That reply isn’t supported by anything in the rulebook and sounds like a house rule – Warlord customer support answers should be taken with a grain of salt and only used as “private use” guidance.

Let me elaborate a little on this ’email answer’ situation:

Hmm so they disallow 2-man teams e.g. sniper, flamethrower, bazooka, and piat teams from controlling objectives.

I have a quick answer from Warlord:
“No spotters can not take an objective, only infantry units or artillery units with 3 crewmen can hold an objective.”
As usual, the rulebook is poorly written, and the spotter for the fact of not being able to FIRE and assault is on a par with the doctor or chaplain. The “3 crewmen” for arty I don’t know where…[Read more]

Sure, spotter can defend in close quarter, like medics and chaplain.
Spotter can’t fire and assault, but only defend in close quarter (in close quarter, cand receive fire order to fire an enemy is coming), exactly like medic and chaplain, he only defend himself if assaulted. But maybe spotter remain a combat unit (he direct mortar/arty fire), and…[Read more]

As it is not mentioned in the rules, I would say a spotter is allowed to control objectives. And if it is attacked in close quarters it should be allowed to defend.

Medic and chaplain rulebook says that can’t fire, assault and that they are non-combatant units, and can’t hold objective.
Spotter? Rules say that can’t fire or assault, but don’t say nothing about hold objective. By similarity to medics and chaplain I think spotter can’t hold objective.
What your opinion?

Yeah, I am pleased with the overall game, but inconsistent scaling has been a disappointment.

On the massive damage question: They both have +4 armour penetration so it seems reasonable to me. Assuming actual damage was scored by busting through the boat’s armour, then the boat can trigger its special.
The heavy howitzer would still apply lots of pins though, on a hit, as it’s not a damage roll. So in that sense the heavy howitzer is…[Read more]

Hi Tim – I think you are right. Using the example in the P&S rule book, ‘vanilla’ horse would be 41 points, including H-t-H of 8 and pistols. The poor old Northern Horse should therefore be 38 points, as you say, for losing one H-t-H factor (2pts) and their pistols (1pt).
You may already have seen it, but there was a very interesting book on…[Read more]

The Stalingrad book grenade adaptor option is for the German squad, same as the one in my attachment. So it cannot be used for Soviets or other nationalities.

Janos900 replied to the topic Hitlers Buzzsaw in the forum Bolt Action 5 years, 3 months ago
Hi!
I play games based on Fortress Budapest, and in that supplement, all Panthers and Pz-IV’s in Hungarian service have the Hitlers Buzzsaw rule. Which is realistic, because none of the German made tanks had different weapons in Hungarian service than in German service. So T-38 and Stug III and Hetzer, and Pz III all had German weaponry. So I…[Read more]

Steeljackal replied to the topic shirkers rule question in the forum Bolt Action 5 years, 3 months ago
I take a look in errata&FAQ too, and there is no other info on shirkers or routed units. So as I wrote, I agree with you, by raw reading the pins are to be counted to see if the unit is routed.
On Shirkers special rules says “always count pinned markers as double” so by raw reading seems count as doubled for order test, shotting and morale…[Read more]
