As most main guns roll only one die, difficult shots that need, say, a 6 or 7, are most likely to achieve nothing. However, when are rolling 5 MG dice, you clearly have much higher chance of achieving something vs those hard-to-hit targets. And that pin may be all you need to shut the enemy down or even force a rout/morale c…[Read more]

How often do you find yourselves using the main gun of a tank to target infantry? My preference is to put an HE shell into a squad to maximize pins so long as the hit roll is 4’s or better, if it’s 5’s I’ll only use it to complement the hull machine gun, and I’ll switch to coax on 6’s.
How do you guys tend to approach this? Does the size of the…[Read more]

Thanks Lord Rao.
p.87 only mentions it in the fluff, it doesn’t appear in the selectors. however it does say they weren’t used in New Guinea, so that explains it.
im guessing I could use the generic British selector and chose the Australian National Rule, or check out the original Australian pdf.
Thanks to all anyway,
John

But all other SS units have the option of Fanatics, so I would think they would to? Warlord even do figures for them, but their list is nowhere :p

The SS Divisional Pionier units had the same OOB the Heer units had. And no special toys. 😉
The “Sturmpionier” is mostly a gamer myth, the units that had that name assigned in WW II for some time are ordinary Pioniere selected for some siege operation like Sewastopol. They got a higher number of assault explosive devices and some special t…[Read more]

Pretty sure that’s not them as their entry says “Often overlooked in favour of the dashing panzers or elite Waffen-SS troops”.
The SS Pioneers are mentioned in the Battle of the Bulge book.

Yes it does: p.87 has the listing for both the 2 and 6 pounders (light and med. AT guns), referring to the British book. The same is true for most of the weapon teams.

I don’t know that there are. Perhaps you mean Sturmpioniere, which are on p.25 of the German 2nd ed. book.

The New Guinea book has several lists that would include the 6lber for Australia
