I agree, not everyone washes their figures. Heck, I used to be one of those that didn’t wash their figures, but now I always wash my figures regardless if they are metal, plastic, or resin. The reason I switched over to doing this is because I have noticed it does make a difference most of the time. I use soap (grease removing dish-soap) and warm…[Read more]

I recently got a Marlborough’s Wars Starter Army set here in the states. It let’s me build 4 infantry battalions, 1 cavalry regiment, artillery, and commanders. I’m well on my way to getting my first army set.
I’m building War of Spanish Succession Bavarians. What I know about them is that an infantry regiment consisted of 2, then later in the…[Read more]

I believe that there will be adavanced rules and expanded fleet lists coming.
I know Mongoose were planning a 3 book set before this became Warlord’s game. I haven’t seen the rules in the starter game but I assume Warlord is planning something similar.

My opinion is certainly not an official call, but might I throw in my own thoughts?
- If your opponent disagrees with the change to the ruleset you propose then he is at liberty to say no. Tinkering with rules is fine, but only so long as both players agree to the alterations.
- Historically, minefields were sited in depth because their value is,…

As IO has suggested, not everyone washes their figures.
Personally, I do when ever I remember. Remember that the figure you hold in your eager paw has been in a mould coated with a mould-release agent, then prised out and packed by hand in (sorry, Warlord, the same goes for all commercial figures and models) an undoubtedly dusty small factory…[Read more]

My primary source is Ian Hogg.
The shells of the 25 pounder weighed slightly over half as much as the 105. The 25 pounder had 6 crew, the 105 had seven. So with almost as many men and lighter shells, the 25 pounder could fire at a higher sustained rate than the 105. When I served, during the cold war, I was in intelligence. If war broke out…[Read more] -

Hi all
Couple of questions.
1: The fletcher class has the depth Charge trait but it is not in the Rulebook, is this for a future advanced rulebook ?
2: ASW/Observation aircraft in Mongooses rules carrying Depth Charges if needed, is this gone now in Warlords rules?
3: Radar, Bismark in the rules has Radar but according to the scouting only…[Read more]

If you trust sources that tell fuss like ” 25 pounder had a ROF of 6 per minute. 105 had an rof of 3. ” I fear there is no argumenting. Just try contemporary German ones. like the Datenblätter 1944 Blatt G 116II on the 105mm le FH 18/40. Schuß min 6 – 8 . For a short time like 25 pdr even much faster.
The amo loading process of both was…[Read more]

I have a couple of friends that have DUCT figures, and we did a simple comparison sometime ago. The DUST figures are very much taller than the 28mm Warlord miniatures, so do not mix well at all.

Because of costs, and also “heroic” sized 28mm fugues, I have opted for “standard” units that are only twelve figures not sixteen. I have also opted to base them where the space I have allotted for a figure amounts to 1-inch or 25mm square, not 20mm. Some figures of some units have been based literally “individually” on such 25mm squares, but w…[Read more]

When we did the WW2 jet stats we set ourselves a limit of things we could show had flown operationally. It is a question of having a reliable source of info as much as anything. There is no real way of saying how planes that never flew, or only flew as prototypes would ever have performed. One day if BRS goes into Konflict 47 then maybe, but…[Read more]

I’ve read Cooper’s book. I decline to use it as a resource for information. None of many WWII vets I’ve talked to agree with it. Cooper had an axe to grind. I do not share his opinion.
Wikipedia stats are: QF 25 pounder 6 rpm, 105mm 3 rpm, in regular use. Yes, both guns could do 10 rpm in extreme circumstances.
According to the rulebook, the…[Read more]
