  • I’d go with that trucks taken out by small arms is a gameplay balancing act (they did roll on damage tables in v2 so the change is either gameplay or writters)

    Or house rule that the porteee / gunshield means you roll on the vehicle damage chart (full damage) instead of auto destroyed?

    1 – indirect rule allows the use of spotters.. which isnt really historical

    3 – BA isnt the most accurate game – either weapons, tactics or history

  • There is no need for a spotter to fire indirect. With a line of sight indirect fire can be useful to shoot over friendly troops. No spotter needed for that. Also handy to shoot at opponents hiding behing a wall or something like that. It would negate the save roll.

    Howdy Mike!

    IIRC, some of the Version 2.0 scenario books have provisions for playing “Special” characters/historical figures.  IDK if this was deliberate on Warlord Games part to link the miniatures with the game, but it seems like it.  I’d imagine it’s the same idea behind the KELLY’S HEROES models and miniatures.  Just one guy’s $.02….

    Can anyone from the Bolt Action advisory board let me know if anyone in the group is considering special rules for the special figures.  They could be prepared as optional rules section to give the game a bit more flash.  The special abilities should align with the underlying narrative Warlord provides about the character and should not minor.

  • I wish there were a way to import units from other army lists for various reasons including the reason you noted.  Perhaps in the future that could happen with a simple note that the list does not conform to the “approved” lists.  This would help in a variety of cases, not just the one you are dealing with.

    If given the choice, I would be happy to pay an 26 extra points to change my American veteran bazooka team from Pen +5 to Pen +6.

    If I pay the 26 points, can I say my American veteran bazooka team is using a captured German panzerschreck (Pen +6)?  (wink, wink)

  • I am trying to build some Italy German forces and use some of the captured and also German built vehicles and the army builder app has no support for captured vehicles from Italy?  is this an oversight or an omission?  there seem to be a lot of French conversions or even Cech but help me out Warlord army builder app

     

  • I double check, both profile and lore section incorrect – this car actually has BOTH MMG and Light AC, not only one. Now we have  AC as option to change mmg in turret, maybe  we need add second one?

    I guess there is some other balancing factor. (hits/pen.)

    It may also depends on what to shoot to make it strong. “GTravity Pulse” seems stronger on Infantry than Vehicles/Walkers. From my expirience so far.

    The real issue I have is this; the Americans are paying 78 points for a Veteran Bazooka team (Pen +5).  The Germans are paying 104 points, 26 more than the Americans, for a Panzerschreck (Pen +6).  All the stats for both units are the same except the penetration.  Seems a steep price to pay for…[Read more]

    In the MRB list, the veteran premium is only applied to the base anti tank rifle team cost with the panzershrek as a fixed price upgrade.  In AoG, the veteran premium is applied to the regular panzershrek team as a whole.  It’s a function of the unit pricing system throughout Bolt Action.  Opinion – all options should have pricing by experience le…[Read more]
