@Mark G – “The rules state that units only score if they are totally in a sector, ” – It then goes on to add “If a unit straddles across two or more quarters, it counts as in the quarter where the majority of it’s models are (or most of the model in case of one-model units) – if in doubt, of course, roll a die for it.” p148, Playing a Game of Bolt…[Read more]

Question on Sectors:
Played this sectors last night and when counting points at the end came across an issue that hopefully you can resolve for me.
I had 2 squads at the end of the end of the game that had the majority of the models in the opponents sector (6 in 1 out for both units). The rules state that units only score if they are totally in…[Read more]

Dr Dave replied to the topic German Grenadiers – late, late war and long sleeves? in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 8 months ago
Thanks Jim, I’ve ordered a sprue. However, looking at pictures their jackets are the panzer crew double breasted type – not the simply single breasted, shortened, late 1944 jacket.
I’ll see how I get on.

Hi George,
In GH p54 light wood assumed a spread of small trees younger trees with some undergrowth. Not a managed orchard and not the hundreds of years old Wilderness.
As for speed they are treated as in rough ground. In BP1 p36 this means that they can enter the light wood but move at 1/2 speed.

Hmm. So, I went to my copy of BP 1ed. That came out before GH. Again, artillery is not allowed to enter woods or rough ground. except along a road. How then would artillery enter light woods and at what speed?
I checked manhandling artillery thinking that it might give terrain exceptons. No, they still have to follow the same rules.

- It’s 12″
- GH came out before the BP 2nd Ed., So BP2 follows GH.
- GH says what it means. Artillery can still move through though at a big penalty as they seek a path through and around the undergrowth and trees.

Hello,
It’s been a long time but I’m playing Black Powder again. This time with American Civil War miniatures. I got the supplement Glory Hallelujah (I’ll refer to it as “GH” here on out). It has left me with two questionable situations. Namely…
1. Is artillery canister range 6″ or 12″? There is a chart on page 55 of GH that shows canister at…[Read more]

Steve is right – reduce the cost. At the moment there is a bizarre anomaly that you can get an MMG armed jeep for less than an MMG team which feels wrong.

Wargames Atlantic Panzer Lehr troops ? Short tunics , long sleeves , short boots / gaiters . The bodies have flat necks so swapping heads with BA parts is a little tricky sometimes , I picked up a few of WA various WW1 /2 sprues for kit bashing purposes

Warlord do NOT make these, but who does? Plus they need to mix well with Warlord.
- Late war German infantry
- no smocks
- no greatcoats
- sleeves rolled down
It’s uber late war: April – May 1945.
Apologies if this contravenes Warlord rules

My take – [HOWEVER dont forget that this is why campaign units should only be used in campaign scenarios… apart from that see how your opponent wants it played BEFORE you start playing the game.]
So, recrew the gun – you remove models from the unit and use them to resurrect the casualties from the gun crew…
So you have now lost the officer…[Read more]

As far as I can see, the order is lost – you have destroyed that unit to re-crew the artillery piece. If you don’t want that, leave a man in the officer unit to keep it in the game.
As for the personal weapons, you’ve converted them to artillery crew in an artillery unit that is bound by the team weapon rules – team weapon crew cannot fire…[Read more]

SteveT replied to the topic Heavy weapons at long range and pinning in the forum Bolt Action 1 year, 8 months ago
The weapons chart at the back of the rule book lists HMG under Heavy Weapons, and not Small Arms.
As far as I understand, a HMG at its long range is a penetration 0 weapon vs the front of armoured targets and would not qualify for pins.
