Anglo-Zulu War: Historical British Regiments 1879

The 2nd Invasion of Zululand was not just fought by the iconic British redcoats – many British regiments took part in the conflict, decked out in a variety of uniforms. The Zulu! Black Powder supplement takes you through the history and background to the Zulu war with scenarios covering the battles from January to April 1879 when the Zulus attempt to destroy Lord Chelmsford at Gingindlovu! We took the opportunity to have a few of these regiments that took part painted up.

Here are our three regiments, all of which saw plenty action. We’ve also included a couple of the many awesome battle scenes from the Zulu book…

Our final regiment is the Royal Marines, with their distinctive blue uniforms, who put ashore to support the main army and were present at every major battle.
