The Earlier Mogamis didn’t have an extra turret, only an extra gun per turret.
You only get 1AD per gun for 8″ or larger guns. For 6″ (or 6.1″ in the case of the Japanese, and presumably the 5.9″ guns of the Germans), it seems to be 1 AD per 1.5 guns per turret, so triple turrets get 2AD.
The British really get screwed by this as some of their cruisers have twin 6″ turrets, meaning each turret only gets 1AD. So an Arethua clas cruiser with 3 x Twin 6″ turrets would only have a broadside of 3AD, but a Town class’s front arc of 2 x triple 6″ turrets would get 4AD, despite both having the same number of the same size guns.
For guns below 6″, you need even more guns for each AD.
And why the Aquila too? That was never completed either. The German fleet box isn’t lumbered with uncompleted ships (even though there are always people wanting German super-weapons) so why has the Italian Fleet box been padded out with one-quarter of the ships that are a waste of resin?
My pre-order arrived today, right on release date
Actually, I kind of like the bases. But I would have liked to have seen the ships up close before committing. (Bl**dy virus)
If the torpedo was launched, it would not have armed by the time it contacted the DE. If the MTB was hit with the torpedo still on it, I would have treated it as a ‘hitting a torpedo on deck’ critical.
You can buy it for under £25 if you search.
Mustang 1 was a P51A. Therefore, it had the Allison engine, not the Merlin as the scenario implies. The Mustang 1A specified in the scenario had an armament of 4x 20mm cannons
For the Spitfire V, the B of the mark specifies the armament. The Spitfire VB had 2x 20mm cannon and 4x .303 MGs. The less common Spitfire VA had 8x .303 MGs. The Seafire III would have had the same armament as the Spitfire VB.
Intending to do all the vessels listed in the book is a commendable ambition but some are quite esoteric. Surely some of the RN’s short MGBs should be a higher priority.
Hopefully MGB 660 will include a 2-pdr casting. Otherwise, we might have to wait until Warlord give us the BPC short MGBs.
The second printing occurred because the first print run sold out. So any copies in stock should be second printing.
I’m not sure what you are trying to say you understand the rule to say, but the way turning works is as per the diagram text.
If you move at slow (1/3rd) speed, you get a single turn at the end of your single movement segment.
If you move at combat (2/3rds) speed, you turn twice, once at the end of each your 2 movement segments (which are each 1/3rd of your maximum move).
If you move at full speed, you get to turn 3 times. You have 3 movement segments with a turn at the end of each.
No, you turn once at the end of a slow move. You get to turn once at the end of each 1/3rd of the maximum move, so once at slow, twice at combat speed and 3 times at fast speed.
I don’t think you need extra critical hits for torpedo hits (or on-deck detonations) – the base damage is critical enough.
I would say “No”, you don’t re-roll 6s. It is not stated in the “Torpedo hit” critical rule that the damage is anything more than a basic 8D6.
So, where can we get a 1/300th 2-pdr from?
