    I cashed in on the terminator sale to build an undead army of mostly archers (terminators) with a cav unit of drones and a robotic overlord , a new twist on undead .

     

    Anyone else have some odd takes on using the army lists ?

    Option 5 … why dose it have to be 1 or 2 ?

     

    Have you looked through all your options , really ? green mortar … light howitzer w/ anti-armor option … mmg … mixing quality and capability might be min maxing … but it can also help level the playing field vs vet players , and I for one rather like a good loss vs an easy win … and I know that not just me.

    their are lots of cheap options to get more dice in the bag , but your never going to beat the soviets that way , just come close … can that tiger pay for its price ? not just in kill but attention drawn ? or can the stug do the same job at half the points … dont think of your army as a bunch of stuff but as a bunch of cells together making something greater than the parts , a living thing on the battle field , it will need mobility , firepower , superessive fire , melee push and more to reach your goals … and redundancy is your friend .

     

    Keep this in mine as you look through other army lists and keep exploring options even after you start winning (20 games or so) … if you dont get bogged down in one style your oponent will never get tired of playing you and will look forward to your next army selection .

     

    memoirs for an ork player that was told orks were the worst army their was (2ed 40k WH) … 20 losses later i went on a 200 game winning streak that lasted 2 years all across the state … never limit yourself and all ways explore your options.

    Not having a copy of tank war (yet) I was wondering if you can build armored car platoons in the same form as tank platoons ?

    If so it opens up a lot of possibilities for desert encounters …

    Missed that too … jeep / kubelwagon spam would be broke, will have to review main book force selection …

    You may take a jeep as a transport / tows option per infantry unit in most American (and great Britain) theatre selectors … if you add a mmg for +15 points it loses its transport ability … it is then a > ? < Selection in your force list …

    It should not still take up a transport slot but is not identified as an armored car slot ether …

    Wishful thinking outside the bubble but a mmg team mounted in a jeep or kubelwagon could be taken as a the weapon upgrade for the vehicle (in some lists) keeping the mmg slot much like a Horch 1A field car with flack 38 in an artillery slot in a few german force listd (death on volga / rommel triumphant) …

    Came up thinking about a motorcycle with mmg sidecar, a few kradschutzen squads , officer in a kubelwagon, 1 or 2 AA mmg kubelwagon, and a squad or two in trucks… early war or Normandy patrol …

    Some folks use multiple platoons to get the force list they want … some mechanized infantry and a few tanks for example.

    Their is a damage roll and a damage result roll … all penetration modifiers are added/subtracted from the (to) damage roll and not the damage result chart … see bottom of damage result chart for its roll modifiers.

    If we are making new rule suggestions mine would be …

    If a mortar shot misses by only 1 or 2 have it’s hit location deviate 2d6″ in a random direction. Or maybe 1d6″ per # hit roll missed by, so miss by 3 deviate by 3d6″ in random direction …

    With the change in hat often came a change in uniform color … but having a multi hat option let’s one box cover multibe unit , if the rest of the uniform is the same …

    So you played Bolt Action … and you may have played tank war, or wanted too … but every troop comander wants his troops mechanized … in WW2 that ment half tracks , lots of them … sooo …

    A half track war , totally mechanized infantry with mechanized support vs more of the same …

    1 commander in half track + other HQ options from army list (must fit into transports but don’t have to take for self if can fit in othets)

    2-4 troop selections from base list , must have half track transport

    0-1 AA gun mounted in half tack
    0-1 mortar mounted in halftrack
    0-1 artillery mounted in halftrack

    0-1 Armored car
    0-1 Tank

    Within agreeable range … for example brit
    universal carriers should count as halftracks , tankets could count for half tracks for mortar/artillery mounts … ect …

    Just a pondering of possibilities but … Open to others expanding the horizon, ie open to input …
