Latest FAQ:
If I shoot at a unit of artillery that has only one or two crew models
left, does the ‘small team’ to-hit modifier apply or not?The small team rule applies to units made of one or two infantry models (implying ‘and nothing else’, which should have been stated clearly). So, so as long as there is also a gun model, that unit is not…[Read more]

Good point, I play Soviets as well but never noticed that as I am not a fan of anti-tank guns, prefering to pay more points for tanks instead. I just checked the FAQ and did not see any errata, so they are 2-man teams, benefiting from the “small team” added bonus when target by enemies.

@Master Chief – the M3 Scout car has the option of taking 4 pintel mount HMGs with have limited fire acrs in game … off top of my head front + left, front + right, rear + left, rear + right
@Thomas – the HMGs are on the corners of the transport area and whilst theoritically alble to fire accross the loading bay its not that practicle

Bolt Action 2nd Edtion page 114:
Transport vehicles have a minimal crew, so they can only fire one of the weapons they are equipped with. If they are equipped with more than one weapon, these can be fired only if the vehicle is carrying/towing a unit whose members act as weapon crew – each weapon being fired needs one man to operate it. If the v…[Read more]

I think they are similar to pillboxes, except they are made of metal and can be moved manually using horsedrawn carriages, so I guess the “closest official” rules are Bolt Action rules 2nd Edition page 127:
BUNKERS
The following rules cover bunkers, pillboxes and all other reinforced buildings specifically designed to protect soldiers from enemy…[Read more] -

Thanks for the detailed answer.
I have to say, i find it a bit unfortunate, that Warlord games sells a unit (specially in the deluxe box from “The longest day”) without having any rules, any army lists or any scenarios where i can use them.
But again, thanks for the answer,
Carsten

Haha I think I know which manufacturer you are referring to 😂 I am eagerly waiting for their twin bazooka armoured Willys jeep kit (need to get it with their new re-released Willys jeep), although I have already “kit-bashed” 2 using the Warlord Armoured jeep and 4 spare bazookas from my US weapons sprues.
I will order the new kits together with…[Read more]

The change in currancy acceptance and the related exchange rate may not be warlord, but rather the bank that provides the payment portal..
I think it is not. I used to see the prices displayed in £, and when I pay with my credit card or Paypal, my credit card bank or Paypal does the exchange rate conversion, and charges a fee.
Now I see prices di…[Read more]

Yes Warlord prices have gone up and also switched to billing customers in their local currencies instead of in £. In my local currency prices have gone up by 50%. It is really madness and I have written in to them in this, but nothing has been done. Hopefully if enough people write in they may do somethig about it.

So your saying ignore the dogfight completely?
Note I’m not talking tactics about if you should engage the attacking bomber flight or not ….purely what would happen if you did

Master Chief replied to the topic Question about equiping Nid-late war US Marine NCOs with pistols in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 9 months ago
Yes and the world is also filled with teams who failed because the leader wouldn’t or couldn’t do a “lower” level task, with the excuse that it is not their role and they have more “important” things to do. Or are you saying it is OK for the NCO to be a loader but not a gunner?
Whatever the case the FAQ is out there until it is amended. But as I…[Read more]

I wrote LMG, not SMG. It surely affects the leaders job. A good leader is not just showing his rank signs, he commands. And for that he needs all his senses to control the fight.
Holding that weapon is no problem but serving it is. A LMG demanded a lot of “love” to work. So both crewman had to focus on that job. No time left to look wha…[Read more]
