Hello all!
I am a new Bolt Action Player. I have the Starter Set and have read into the rules. So far all is fine. I also have bought the Stalingrad Deluxe Battle Set. Here i have a question and two comments:
1. In the battle set every side has a mortar team and a mmg team. There are also two Sandbag emplacements. Are these for the mortar or for…[Read more]

Poorly written rules, many repetitions, conflicting rules 🤷♂️
To avoid disputes, I would follow a rough reading of the rules. So the Russians follow their “Demolition Charges” rule and the Americans their “explosives” rule:
Americans can put explosives on obstacles and buildings.
Having said that by agreeing between players, the rules can be…[Read more] -

I agree with Masterchief.
N.1 damage roll per model.
Tough fighters or weapons with a special “assault” rule that succeeded on the damage roll, reroll a second time. -

If you’re talking about moving for purpose of making indirect fire ranging reset, I’d say that a hull/chassis pivot in place would not count, nor would simply turning a turret. The key term being “in place”.
I just add how the movement must be done to reset the indirect shot adjustment. From rulenook “…to count as ‘moved’,…[Read more]

Bolt Action 2nd Edition page 79:
The attackers make one assault attack per man (keep in mind that some weapons and special rules confer additional attacks). As there is no taking cover from a grenade blast, bayonet thrust or point-blank shot, all close quarter attacks against other infantry or artillery crews hit automatically. Roll to inflict…[Read more]

Make it that you take damage if you leave..the same as if you are becalmed or drop 2 sails levels.
another alternative is to allow the following ship(s) to target the one that has left the table…measuring to the exit point. The ship that left can’t fire back as all the crew are attempting to tack the ship round

AA batteries are 360 arc
DP just allows the weapons system to target aircraft at half range ..and must either target aircraft or surface ships (no mixing target)
so using 5” guns at 6” range do I use half the AD or a quarter?

Might I suggest ospreys men at arms boom 141…napoleons line infantry …
basically it it boils down to regimental preference … there is no one size fits all answer you need to look at the regiments in question.

Nat replied to the topic Tank and turret pivots in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 10 months ago
As said above turrets normally have a 360deg arc unless jammed (damage table result)
i say normally because some turrets have limited arcs such as the soviet t28 & t35 tanks which have turrets limited to 2 arcs (so 180)…

It’s. 600 in the rules manual as well…so looks like the card is a typo

SteveT started the topic Rule book and Reference sheet don't agree in the forum Hail Caesar 3 years, 10 months ago
Not only don’t agree but are opposite in meaning…
From p.72 rules:
- On the roll of a 6 ‘to hit’ by ranged attacks requiring less than 6 to hit.
From Quick Ref sheet
• On the roll of a 6 ‘to hit’ by ranged attacks requiring better than 6 to hit.
Which is it?

Looks like a good alternative. Thanks for sharing it.
The only difference I can notice here is that this one seems to be made of harder plastic. Not sure if it changes anything here.

Answer in rulebook and confirmed by FAQ. Turret weapons arc of fire is 360°
Rule book 2nd edition:
“…Turret-mounted weapons. Weapons mounted on turrets can usually fire all around (i.e. into any arc)…”FAQ:
“…Can a turreted vehicle in Ambush react to a movement outside the arc of fire of its weapons? Can the turret turn to react to the…[Read more] -

Thanks Al.
I cannot see any rational for a stone wall (Moral save) to be in a different category (Shooting mod) for a metal wall (aka armour). z

-1 on Ranged attacks vs cataphracts/heavy infantry.
That is odd, since these units were slow and didn’t present fast moving targets. If it is because of their protection, then surely this is equivalent to troops behind cover.
Is this an error? (I am using the Quick Ref sheet that Warlord put out)
Cheers

Hi Craig,
Another post waiting for validation or stuck in the spam box.
I replied to the BRS Yak1 or 1B thread (I appear as the last poster in the thread list) but the post doesn’t show.
It may be due to 2 links I put in it, but one is to WL store and the second to the BRS official site :/
