Aircraft have a minimum move so he’ll get one shot at it before you past through..
You can’t outmanoeuvre people in clouds so run a swarm of PS2 guys and hide in clouds until he splits up his formation or you’ve got on the tail of the end of his column ..tail and shoot down his ..in a squadron of 5 you only need to shoot down 2 to break him

Jim I like your idea. I already see pics online of miniatures on trasparent bases.
I also don’t like seeing grass bases on the beach or in a paved square, especially for large bases such as artillery and support weapons. They are often beautiful mini dioramas, but I am not convinced to see a mg team camouflaged behind a trunk in a building, or an…[Read more]

@Jim… you have to be careful with the glue from what I hear as its very easy to make the clear plastic bases go cloudy – I”ve not used them or seen them in the flesh myself this is just feedback I’ve seen over the years on vairious forums.

I always found Warlord mortar, arty,… team with medium and large circular bases to put all on it.

Hi Steve,
you wrote “This kind of implies that the surviving crew could run about independently…after the loss of the main gunner and actual weapon.”
If I understand right, this is not correct. A team based weapon unit (like MG, mortar, bazzoka, sniper) after exceptional damage entire unit and dice is lost. Assistant can’t continue to fight. F…[Read more]

The choice is yours. I prefer to use small bases and keep assistants separate. You can quickly and easily see how many servants are missing. I attach some photos.
A normal wounded, chosen by the defender.
An exceptional damage means that the weapon is damaged / jammed in addition to the gunner’s death, and the assistants flee. The whole unit is…[Read more] -

I thought this would have a simple answer, until I checked the rulebook, shooting section, taking damage:
“If the target is a weapons team, for example a bazooka or medium machine gun team, then exceptional damage indicates that the weapon itself has been damaged or rendered inoperable in some fashion, so remove the weapon and its firer…[Read more]

Master Chief replied to the topic Question about equiping Nid-late war US Marine NCOs with pistols in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 1 month ago
Haha you are assuming the player spends 3 points to give the NCO the SMG, which wouldn’t be the case if he could be given a pistol for +1 point instead.
But I do agree that NCO’s weapons are specifically mentioned, and all other mention of “men” exclude the NCO. That’s how we have been playing it.

To be honest there is no point to giving the NCO a pistol…the game idea of the pistols is to give assault rule to the guys without it so the whole unit (less 1 guy) gets tough fighter in combat….
The actual TOE I suspect is that the BAR gunners carried the pistol as a secondary weapon…

Ok, reading the entry in question (us armies book pg 26). It makes the distinction of NCO & Men in the composition line and in the options section . For example it says NCO & up to 2 men can have SMGs, and upto 3 men can have BARs.
So the NCO can take a SMG but no other option, the men part can change their rifle for either an SMG, shotgun or…[Read more]

RAW hat on….
If the unit is made up of 1 NCO & 5 men, the BAR entry excludes the NCO as he is not part of the men entry as defined in the unit compastion line. However if you look at the Armies of the Soviet Union the upgrade options are normally written any soldier which is not defined so could be either the NCO or one of the men. However t…[Read more]

Hmm, “to use it to carry a mortar/MMG Team” sounds like you intent to use it as troop transport like a lorry. It was None. The Heeresfeldwagen carried some amo and the baggage. Sometimes some footsore Or hitched a ride but and it was not allowed to travel on it if the feet are OK.
It was no vehicle that would be seen in first line. Just in r…[Read more]

According to Armies of Italy and the Axis the Sturmi STUG variant has a hull-mounted MMG (top page 53). I cannot find any historical reference to this and also there doesn’t seem to be any place to glue on an MMG, even with some hacking about.
Can’t find any errata that mention it either.
Anyone?

Hi, the length of the line is variable and depends on the height the pointer is held above the table. The higher the longer the line. It should be able to measure anything within the standard 6×4 table.

Master Chief replied to the topic Question about equiping Nid-late war US Marine NCOs with pistols in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 1 month ago
Yes I agree with Stuart and that’s how we have played it too. We have always (implicitly) thought “men” excluded the NCO, but started thinking after this was raised here. Consider the entry for US Regular Infantry Squad in the Armies of US book:
REGULAR INFANTRY SQUAD (LATE-WAR)
Cost: Regular Infantry 60pts.
Composition: 1 NCO and 5 men
Weapons:…[Read more] - Load More
