Hi! I’m looking for opponents around Manchester. I do not have a table but can travel. Can get to Forge in Trafford Park and Element Games in Stockport.
Unfortunately 28mm (the figure size) is not a scale. If it was there would be no difference in build, ie no chunky, heroic or epic versions. I believe that the difference in scales 1/48 v 1/56 depends on historical perspectives. Model planes and tanks were originally for training and indentification purposes and was 1/48 scale. All variants of models used this set of scales (Rocco miniature tanks were 1/96 ie half as big as 1/48) this may well be based on 1/12 scale (for you younger brits and everyone other than citizens of the USA, 1 inch on the model is 12 inches (1 foot)in real life. 1/56 is an attempt to formalise 28mm as a scale.
I for one am a war gamer and these are games tokens so what is accepted by players is ok by me.
Nat is correct about colours fading to grey. I had a similar experience with my DPM after several years in the late 70s.
A lot of current advanced camouflage uniforms look grey when seen from a distance.
An interesting topic as I am currently looking at Hungary as my WW2 army.
I was thinking of using Zandri Dust spray as a base/primer. i must admit to not knowing the scheme suggested in Miniature Wargames.
Unit cards are not necessary for the game but are just handy reminders of the stats in the rule book.
Hi guys! I’m Don from Manchester, UK.
Just getting interested in Bolt Action: Korea and SPQR.
I’m particularly looking forward for more PVA models, the army not the material, and resins, that’s the material and not the army 🤪
Also remember that pistols have the special rule “Assault” pp62 y 66. So no penalty “to hit” when moving and shooting as well as giving the special rule “Tough” pp91 allowing you to make a second damage roll for a model so armed who scores a casualty at close quarters. So do you move 6” and shoot 6” or run 12” and assault?
