Thanks, Andrew. That still does not make sense to me.
I would have thought Frigate Box with more frigates than 3rd Rates. Same for the brigs, a brig-only box with a number of them in there.
I’d like to get my hands on several more frigates but I don’t need any more brigs. This is why I am thinking of this.
January 31, 2020 at 7:01 pm #173873ErikParticipantI think it would be brilliant.
February 25, 2019 at 7:28 pm #155805ErikParticipantGood idea. I’ll check them out. Thanks.
February 25, 2019 at 6:26 pm #155795ErikParticipantYeah, that makes some sense.
So, no harm in having the 4-tube boats with lower hull numbers than the 2-tube boats, right?
Just want to confirm before I dip the decals in water. 😉
February 20, 2019 at 7:47 pm #155565ErikParticipantThanks.
Bummer, though. I love that mouth. Somehow, putting it on British boats reminded me of the Yellow Submarine. 😉
February 20, 2019 at 7:46 pm #155564ErikParticipantGood idea, decks first.
Thanks for that.
February 12, 2019 at 9:56 pm #155011ErikParticipantI’ll add that the folks at Warlord (someone named Robin, specifically) were very gracious once I got through to them.
Don’t lose faith in Warlord. They are just overwhelmed right now.
As for your local shop….
February 12, 2019 at 5:21 pm #155005ErikParticipantVollkommen verwirrt, but thanks for the explanation.
I’m American, but up until the late 1880s we were Brandenburgisch and from a city near Krakow that was German speaking, owned by the Austrians, and is now part of Poland.
Other side is Lithuanian.
I used to live in Austria and in Bavaria so I speak a Muenchen-Salzburg dialekt.
Now, who is confused…? I am.
February 11, 2019 at 8:58 pm #154948ErikParticipantDoes anyone use standard artist’s paints from the art store, like Liquitex?
As for licking your brushes, I like mine so they dry in a point. It’s useful.
I use acrylics, though, not enamels and I don’t lick after cleaning with something other than soap and water.
February 11, 2019 at 8:46 pm #154947ErikParticipantDanke, IO. Du bist Deutscher?
Some of those German terms are very confusing: Landser, Soldat, Soldner, Grenadier, Volksgrenadier, Schutzen, Heer, und so weiter.
Sie machen mich vollkommen virwirrt.
February 11, 2019 at 6:42 pm #154939ErikParticipantHow do we translate “Vorposten?”
Is it “Before” or “In Front of” the “Post?”
Or is it more like “Outpost Boat?”
My German is pretty good but this one stumped me.
February 11, 2019 at 6:38 pm #154938ErikParticipantThanks, IO.
Yeah, cyanacrylate is funny in that it “dries” when wet.
It was actually developed to stop bleeding.
February 11, 2019 at 6:13 pm #154933ErikParticipantI know Warlord is totally overwhelmed right now. I finally got through to them after weeks and multiple attempts.
Hang in there. They have not forgotten you.
February 11, 2019 at 5:55 pm #154931ErikParticipantThis a great thread.
I would like to request:
– coastal defenses including:
– coastal artillery
– coastal MG nests
– cables and other traps/barriers
– some troops to drop off and pick up
– coastal targets like supply dumps and buildings
– lookout/observation bunkers
– harbors and cranes
– some kind of 1/300 cars, trucks, tanks (maybe we’ll just use 1/285 or whatever scale already exists)I second this: “Coastal flak fort / tower.” I saw something in a kickstarter or Shapeways, I forget which, about these. Could be awesome.
I would also like to see more packs containing crewed and un-crewed weapons, rafts, searchlights, and people. I like these little groups of 3 people but I think we could expand upon that.
Also, rafts floating with people in them (scenario objectives), and minefield models.
And, purely for fun, some kinds of sea monsters! Seriously! Just for plain old fun, lunchtime scenarios with the kids and kid-minded adult buddies!
February 11, 2019 at 5:36 pm #154929ErikParticipantGreat explanations, thanks. I am now looking for more of your threads.
Is Schnellbootweiss a stone-gray color? I have several great stone-grays (like Rakarth Flesh but I have several from Vallejo, too) but they are not the same as the regular, cold grays. I am wondering if I can use those warm grays on the German boats as a base.
If so, they will look nice and different from the British ones.
