I am using Brit Line for Hanoverian Landwehr and forgetting about the forage caps. Just keeping them in shakos and not bothering about the plumes not being central
For Hanoverian light I’ll be using Brit rifle in line.
For mixed order Skirmishe bases for Brit and Hanoverian I’m using minifig 15mm metals. They are slightly larger but as m only using two per base, because they aren’t ranked up then the size difference is not that noticable.
As regards Dutch and Belgian, I am using Brit rifle in line as Dutch militia, Brit Line as Belgian line, and french line (without greatcoats) as Dutch jager.
At that scale the small differences aren’t noticed and it really is up to you and what models you have available. There is a great rocket troop on etsy from TayloredFigures which is a fine fit in size compared to the warlord epic artillery.
Hope that helps.

If cavalry charge into the flank or rear of an infantry battalion then they cannot form square. Is this correct?
If it is correct and say they charge tge flank of a battalion in attack column, how many dice do the infantry get in hamd to hand (also is it different if in line and if in rear etc)? Thanks in advance.

The game is quite simple and only becomes confusing when people try to break it to their advantage. Hope you enjoy learning them and maybe your opinion of it will change. Snap is a card game. Ripping the urine is a polite version of a Scottish phrase meaning ‘pulling my leg’ 👍

July 23, 2018 at 5:59 pm #141726GraestokeParticipant😂😂😂😂 why not save the time modelling the miniatures to gain advantages and use loaded dice? Either way you’ll be short of opponents soon enough 😂😂😂😂
July 23, 2018 at 5:55 pm #141724GraestokeParticipantPage 95 of AT volume 2 suggests that you gain +1 from attack column and +1 from pas de charge under the paragraph titled The Speed of French Assaukt Columns.
July 23, 2018 at 5:50 pm #141722GraestokeParticipantMmmm I think you might be ripping the urine with your questioning. Always presume models are standing regardless of how they are modelled. A unit lying on their stomachs or as you are suggesting, doing headstands, gain no advantage to shooting over them.
July 8, 2018 at 10:00 pm #140607GraestokeParticipantYour opponent has to place a template for a heavy mortar (haven’t got the rules with me to remember the diameter) over the intended target unit. and then any units within 6 inches of the template are considered viable targets.
For every unit he requires to roll a 6 to hit. If he hits the target unit this does not automatically mean he hits the other units within range. Each are rolled seperately. I don’t understand how he managed to hit 3 or 4 units every turn if he rolled four 6s in 11 attempts?
The number of models under the template determine the number of casualties so your guys must have all been super close.
Also, remember if a friendly unit is wothin 6 inches of the target unit then it cannot fire.
You also have the option to go down prior to the roll to hit (which halves hits).
If what you described was legitimate and all dice rolls were made then I’d get your opponent to buy a lottery ticket 😂
June 5, 2018 at 4:02 pm #137340GraestokeParticipantthanks guys. It’s maybe something I’ve thought I’ve read somewhere ha! I’m possibly confusing the ambush (and the fact you can’t pivot on ambush as you need an advance order) with advance and pivot fixed weapons rules. Will read them over 👍
June 5, 2018 at 3:43 pm #137336GraestokeParticipantCan you fire it on the advance though? Or do you have to wait until the next turn? sorry, i don’t have the rulebook to hand.
Thanks.June 5, 2018 at 1:07 pm #137309GraestokeParticipantFiring fixed weapons outwith their arc of fire can be done with a minus 1 modifier in the new version of the rules. But does tgis apply to indirect fire weapons such as mortars and HE? My opponent believes it does but I’m sure it doesn’t as you need a fire order to shoot indirect and HE whereas turning an mmg/hmg etc would use the advance order to pivot it (so in my reckoning this exempts mortars from firing as they can only do this with a fire order) and thus results the -1 penalty. Can anyone clarify? Thanks in advance.
