What can I say….I like the game, but feel its let down in part by the rulebook. I mean some parts of the rulebook could do with being tidied up as the references they need to make sense are missing. Or the rules have been changed and theres still references to those rules in the book (most noticably in the stats section with refits about DC r…[Read more]

Fighters can attack MTBs which is why they have an entry in the hit chart…. any thing bigger is too heavily armoured for their calibre ammo to do seriouse harm to.

Only during the gunnery phase.
Reason- moving in to base contact is just moving in to range and not maneouvering over the ship there for the local X trait trigger doesnt activate.
Note its only Local X that triggers during the movement phase not the AA battery itself. ie a ship with AA battery 3 + local 2 will use 2 AD against every flight…[Read more]

Hi Pat,
this sort of question will get noticed and more answers in the Historical /Bolt Action sub forum…
However, Paras are a valid sub faction army.. in fact they make a great core of a force then you can just swap out what supports you give them (ie jeeps, tanks, transports etc) to change up how they play

1. … Warlord have said you go by FAQ then rulebook, then the cards (IIRC its 450!…. yes warlords points are abit off in places…)
2 … Subs have 4(!) depths – surfaced, submerged, running deep & hidden – to keep teleporting subs to min hidden is to the grid square/sector – check out the subs 101 file I’ve uploaded in this thread…[Read more] -

Nat replied to the topic Manhandling Artillery in the forum Black Powder 2 years, 1 month ago
TBH the move and fire ability of Manhandling guns is the only reason to use it!…. so never on horse artillery
Also any heavy /seige artillery cant be manhandled.
-
Big Al replied to the topic Manhandling Artillery in the forum Black Powder 2 years, 1 month ago
Yes you can. Manhandled Artillery can move a maximum of 6 inches, regardless of how low the command roll is. So, even though you roll and get 3 moves, your manhandled Artillery can only make one move of a total of 6 inches.
The shooting phase is a seperate phase and so, the artillery can fire during that phase.

SteveT replied to the topic Should I introduce my oldman to BA with his old 1/72 scale soldiers in the forum Bolt Action 2 years, 1 month ago
I’ve recently started alternative armies for BA in 15mm. (Flames of War). Base them on metal washers as it stops them falling over. I went for 15mm diameter. 10mm clashes won’t fit on lots of the smaller figures built in bases, and 20mm just leaves them looking too spread out. For a mortar or MMG team, I use regular BA single-man base.
Just c…[Read more]

Garry Wills replied to the topic Where in the book is Veteran explained? in the forum Black Powder 2 years, 2 months ago
If you read through the special rules section you will see that some are recommended for veterans. In particular Elite 4+ which allows them to remove disorder on a D6 4+ and Reliable which adds 1 to the command test, making them move more often and further. It is really up to your particular scenario.

Nat replied to the topic Firing from Building in the forum Bolt Action 2 years, 2 months ago
1 – yes, 2 from each openeing
1b – I’ll need to double check… but I think normal targeting rules apply … ie doesnt matter which side of the building you are looking out of, but you have to all target the same thing unless you have a 1 shot (or limited shot) weapon – or Indirect, but thats a different issue :p2 – short answer is HE ignores…[Read more]

Big Al replied to the topic Supports in the forum Black Powder 2 years, 2 months ago
Basically, what Charge the Guns has said.
the main thing to remember about a brigade order is that the units involved have to be within 6 inches of each other when the order is issued and end the turn within 6 inches of each other.
I don’t know about P&S, but in Hail Caesar, supports move with the fighting unit wherever possible. If P&S is the s…[Read more]
