They got what was available. Begging and stealing. In general those with Vorposten units had more and heavier than those with minesweeping ones.
It was a slow process. Even the large Vorpostenboote had to wait long for better guns and steel shields.

A never ending story ? Fools day I received a new UPS info: Passed Customs. OK, sounds well, but I had the same notice at the beginning of march. Postition is 3 days later still the same, just inside Germany, not a step nearer to Prussia.
Over 2 months…… . (It’s no true Brexit problem, DHL too is slower now but needs 3 weeks…[Read more]

Well, I’ve been playing BP since day one. All my standard units are 36 figures, which is what they were, generally, before Warlord decided to subtly raise the prices by reducing the number of figures in a box.
That is not helpful, though. What is helpful is to know, or remember that there is no figure count in the game. The only thing that is i…[Read more]

I agree with Gary, too. When in Mixed Formation, it is the skirmish screen that is firing, not the whole unit. As only a small proportion of the unit is deployed as a skirmish screen, giving it an extra die based on the size of the unit would be unrealistic.
Same thing if the unit is in Attack Column, really.

The important thing is to keep the unit frontages as close as possible.

I apply it such that mixed formations always have 1 dice, which is the literal interpretation of the rules. Giving them an extra skirmisher die doubles their fire power with only a 50% increase in numbers.

The 2nd edition ruleset couldn’t possibly accommodate the scenario books, but by and large there is good consistency with BP2, but you need to check each specific rule that you select. For example the rules for Generals were modified in BP2 but you still have the option to go with the BP1 option in order to fit with CofE for example. An e…[Read more]

Thanks Slarty. I think I have found Warlord’s “official” army lists, but for all I know they are the same as Greene’s
They come with the starter set.
Question is….can I get just the list booklet as I don’t use 28mm for this conflict…

SteveT started the topic Feudal Japan in the forum Pike & Shotte 3 years, 9 months ago
So, Warlord sell the Samurai figures, under Pike & Shotte.
But where are the army lists, scenarios, and so on? I see nothing in the Pike & Shotte rulebook.
Cheers

Hi Steve.
Alessio says this is a hold over from 1st edition back when flame throwers hit automatically.
“I will errata it, stating that it just needs to be in range, regardless of whether it hits the squad or not.”Guess this means Flamethrowers just got a bit more lethal when clearing buildings.
I hope this helps and have a nice day.…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic Austrian Napoleonic in the forum Black Powder 3 years, 9 months ago
The Austrian Landwehr Jäger are of similar quality to the Prussian Freiwillige Jäger. Similar background, being middle class volunteers. Including some Jewish officers and men.
The ordinary Landwehr was brave but long not trusted by the authorities. They feared insurrection. But 1809 the Landwehr did a good show. Good enough that Napoleon dem…[Read more]

Reply from Warlord:
HI Steve. Thanks for getting in touch.
As far as I am aware the fire check would only be on a hit, but I am going to pass this onto Alessio for confirmation.
I hope this helps and have a nice day.
Kind regards,
Max

I wouldn’t recommend using any of the rule suggestions in any of the supplements until you know the rules in the main rulebook first.
The rules in the supplements are only suggested additions or replacements and not actual rules. Since Black Powder 2 has been released, one or two of the rules in the supplements have been adopted and included a…[Read more]
