@Shrokins – Correct
@Peter – because the way the rules are written you have an extreme range on all weapons, and all other bands are derived from that…. and like in real life weapons have a theoretical range than is far longer than the effective range. (Ie an infantrymans rifle… used at ranges 3-400m’s … can in theory hit a human sized…[Read more]

No its not different, its repeated because of the torpedo fan rule on the same page which uses up a load. (& yes I agree there’s no need for it to be there)

The answer I got was the studio are talking with the author and writting an offical FAQ……I’m not expecting a direct response as I also put in all the outstanding questions the Facebook group (Victory at Sea Wardroom) had from the 2 player set. It was quite an extensive list so I’m not expecting the FAQ quickly.

Nat replied to the topic Scouting and Radar in the forum Victory At Sea 3 years, 8 months ago
In the QSR* page 22 is talking about Scouting in general. So page 12 says that if you allocate the ship (Cruisers or Destroyer only) to scouting then you gain a +1 to your dice to see if you get a scout point. Normally this would be a 5+ (the general rule on page 22) but Radar makes it a 4+, and if you dont get it then you can re-roll that d…[Read more]

Torpedoes use all the mods.
Yes that means torpedoes at long range will only hit if you are in the targets port or starboard arc. However if you are playing with costal terrain you can have a ship runaground (stationary +1). So in theory a torpedo at point blank range can in the right cirumstances hit a ship on a D6 roll of a 1! (1 + large sh…[Read more]

I have summited a list of questions which are being looked at by the studio team… one of the points is the points imbalance across the board.
For what its worth I have worked out that the points are actually calculated individually then rounded to the the closest 5 or 10 points for list purchase price.

Nat replied to the topic Victory at Sea – Obsessive Compulsive Purchaser Storage/Transportation Boxes… in the forum Victory At Sea 3 years, 8 months ago
Look at something like ‘really useful storage boxes’ then glue a magnetic strip to the bottom of the box and a stip magnet to the bottom of the models.
or a company like justlasered .co.uk who do cut foam inserts for army cases.

invisible officer replied to the topic T 11 The foolish 1935 Torpedobbot design in the forum Cruel Seas 3 years, 8 months ago
The idea behind the big S-Boot was foolish from start. A 1935 Torpedoboot costed as much as 4 S-Boote and needed the crew of 5. It had 6 Torpedoes and no reloads, the 4 S-Boote of same price had 8 tubes and 8 more torpedoes that could be reloaded for action before leaving the operational area. The four could carry instead of spare torpedoes…[Read more]

The January UPS packet from Warlord is still in the claws of UPS, it left customs on Monday and is “in transit”. So ordering something from Cruel Seas range is no sane option.
But I was in the mood for another ship and so: Scratch again. I had a Warlord 10,5 cm German gun left and so a single gun vessel was chosen.
Amtsentwurf 1935 and 1…[Read more]

Thinking of it maybe the US will get wildcats, Devastators & either a B17 or a Catalina (for midway battles – so they have carrier aircraft before 44 :p )

invisible officer replied to the topic Dug In and Cover cumulative? in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 9 months ago
The rules are not esp against digging in edge of woods as add on to cover. So many use it. Its a game.
In real life seeking cover in woods is a recruits mistake. It helps a bit against bullets but anything exploding at the trees produce an extra lethal rain of wood splinters. And easy to hit. That “A bridge to far AT ambush on…[Read more]

Nottingham,UK has been in lockdown since effectively December if not a bit earlier. This limits the number of staff a company can have in and working. Now the factory where I work only has 2/3rds of its staff in and we have more space per staff member due to what me make. This means that warlord would at a guess have a production shortful of…[Read more]

SteveT started the topic Flameproof tanks in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 9 months ago
A KV-1 has 10 armour. Flamethrower Pen is +3. So since it cannot be hurt, would a Regular crew have its 50% chance to ignore this low threat? (And veterans 100% chance). If yes, does that mean it skips the rout check normally forced by flamethrowers?

SteveT started the topic Timing of Going Down in the forum Bolt Action 3 years, 9 months ago
Does a unit have to say “Going Down” the moment say a tank fires at it. Or can it wait to see if the tank hits and then go down? I assume both are options depending on how much risk you want to take.

Well written and nice pics.
The fighting in the last WW I weeks was as deadly as the trench war- In my collection is the sword of a 2nd LT kia three weeks before armistice in following the retreating German army.
The rearguards came from the best German units.

Nat replied to the topic Sourcing Miniatures in the forum Black Powder 3 years, 9 months ago
perry metal command advancing might fit what you’re looking for… (same size as warlords)
there’s also Elite miniatures (no idea what these look like compared to warlord), essex (smaller in scale), warfoundry (smaller in scale) & Vitrix (slightly bigger models)

I’m guessing that due to the delays in shipping the Italians (pushed back 2 months now), and they are gearing up for general release of the BP 6mm American Civil War models, they are holding off until they can actually manufacture them.

Träger B (Peter Strasser), Weser (Carrier on Hipper-class), – no stats for these……
Can confirm that the stats of over 200 ships are in the rulebook….
I doubt very much that warlord will sell the cards separate from the models…. they dont for other systems where there are competing manufactors
