During lockdown we (Glasgow Warhogs) have been looking at a Pacific game…we picked an island and ordered up from Warlord 3 pks of Marines and 3 pkts of Japs (Naval Marines and 2 normal infantry). These look great when painted up.
But for our island I noticed from our research that the US marines used LVT1’s with Sherman M4a2 (plain not up…[Read more]

There is a great painting video on u tube. It uses the original uniform colour for standard infantry and black for the navel marine units. Looked fine to me but i am no expert.

If you are into Stalingrad check Glasgow Warhogs blog – Stalingrad factory…
We used Pz4, Stug, Sig33 open and Sig 33a closed, Nebelwefer. I never seen any reference Flampanzers…in the books we used.

I find that with vehicles its “actual” that works best – but…[Read more]

I would suggest maybe the Sig33, Sig33a as well (to add a bit of variation!). We (Glasgow Warhog) used them in our Stalingrad game (for pics see blog).
You could maybe even throw in Sherman’s for the Russians depending on the dates…but just have fun and roll out those barrels!

Regards Figure sizes …It can be a little strange – I noticed the BA German Pioneers were really small in comparison to say Russians, US infantry or US marines. The (slightly taller thinner) US Perry’s are a great set but I wish none of them had bases. You also get “a lot” of Perry’s in a box (lots of bang for your buck). By the way the BA Ja…[Read more]

harryb replied to the topic 2 Questions about gluing over paint and basic basing. in the forum General Discussion 4 years, 7 months ago
Hi
I would offer the following…
1. I have not experienced painted parts not glueing together. Metal parts I use superglue plastic uhu or any plastic glue…
2. I used to glue the exiting base down then base over it…but nowdays I tend to cut away from the Base if possible and re- base onto clear plastic sheet. You can see some pictures o…[Read more]
