I’ve been a kit builder for years, aircraft principally. But I fancied a change and did some Warhammer figures for my youngest son [Necrons and their spaceship] which I enjoyed. I particularly like the Bolt Action range, particularly the tie-in with Osprey. I don’t wargame at the moment, but am reading the general rule book and the one specifically covering the forces of the Japanese Empire before and during WWII.
I also enjoy reading the vast amount of internet comments and advice, especially other peoples models and figures. I like the flexibility there is in finishing these models ie the colour guides and paint recommendations etc. They encourage me, and others too I’m sure, to do their own research and come to their own view on colours and finishes etc.
I have a keen interest in military history, and the acqusition, assembly and painting of my Bolt Action kits and reading the wide range of information available related to the kits as well as the Bolt Action wargaming rules provides an enjoyable range of related activities which provide great personal satisfaction.
I intend to join a local wargaming group at some stage, though not yet!
