Hmm, “to use it to carry a mortar/MMG Team” sounds like you intent to use it as troop transport like a lorry. It was None. The Heeresfeldwagen carried some amo and the baggage. Sometimes some footsore Or hitched a ride but and it was not allowed to travel on it if the feet are OK.
It was no vehicle that would be seen in first line. Just in r…[Read more]

Oh you young peopes, old gamers like me started in pre internet time and got nothing but books. (And had to walk 15 miles through snow to school 😉 )
The Schweres Maschinengewehr Lafette had some high settings to offer best arc of fire and cover combination. So the Warlord Version is not unusual.
I tried to take an explaining pic from my…[Read more]

There was near to no chance to see a submerged mine. Even the contact mine was deep enough to be invisible. So normally S-Boote and MTB could pass contact mine fields without risk.
The magnetic, pressure or sound mines are very difficult to clear. There are settings that made them immune to the first contacts in a given time, so a Sperrbrecher…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic Japanese Infantry Uniforms – Colour of Puttees in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 5 months ago
The best sourches are original items and contemporary Color drwings.
You find them for example in the classic Japanese language book Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms and Equipment. Sold in UK by Arms & Armour Press in 1975.
page 175 Shows orignal puttees in some versions. There was a dark olive green version with light green straps an…[Read more]

Semantics?
We are concerned with the era 1770 – 1830. So a any action of 1741 is …. . My old German university teachers woud have said: “Thema verfehlt, Setzen . Sechs.” (Wrong Topic, sit down, worst note possible) And same those at my Oxford time.
Worse. It was a siege. Intended to win a town. Fought at the coast and in harbor. It was not…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic Sturmtiger-list (new player) in the forum Bolt Action 4 years, 5 months ago
Hmm, the Sturmtiger was designed for street fighting, but was rarely used in that role. The only true one was in Warsaw uprising.
Two from Sturm Mörser Kompanie 100 being part of Kampfgruppe SS-Ogruf. von dem Bach (Abt. Ia Tgb-Nr. 110/4/44 g)
But do we really want to play forces that include the Dirlewanger scum?
The brave peoples from Wa…[Read more]

Seems the rule is not mich used????
I got questions about the gun in background. It’s a 21 cm Mörser 18, the main heavy gun of Wehrmacht. More than 700 made and in front use.
.
The metal model is from a German maker. Some 30+ years old and very rare today. It was long on my wishing list. The maker only delivered it assembled and so th…[Read more]

invisible officer replied to the topic British & KGL Hussars In Spain in the forum Black Powder 4 years, 6 months ago
Well, hmmmm. The problem is Action dress. The slung pelisse cave some protection against sword cuts as did the busby and Tschako.
So many Hussars came to the dance without but put them on directly before action.
But doing the classic hussar work – scouting? Riding for hours in heat and dust?

PM sent. 😉
Yes, the original Light Dragoons had Hussar Dress in Peninsula. Before there was a slow Change from light draggon Dress in 1st and 2nd. The 3rd Regiment was the first to appear completely in hussar fashion, as its colonel Johann Georg v. Reden procured fur to add to the pelisse, introduced the fur cap and allowed the wearing of…[Read more]

Well,in that fun game the obvious weapon is missing at all – The hand grenade.
Even if not shooting you find no full cover in real world. trench, dug out, a room in a ruin….. all not very comfortable if someone lobs a grenade inside.
The writers sometimes forgot that. The Standard rifleman should be able to hit targets at short ranges even in…[Read more]

The wicker had some andvantages. It was light and elastic. So a dropped cannister was not breaking like thin wood. (Massive Wood was heavy) For Germany in wartime it was also an advantage to save rare materials, even seasoned Wood was becoming scarce.
German 10,5 cm amo consisted of the case with base propellant, a number of bags with…[Read more]
