    Nice event.

I like your custom boom shits but that is another lesson learnt from mass air battle like this : not enough of them ^^

Your airfield is a killer too.

I got the same since quite some time.

I assume that it was some spammed messages.

I don’t use spray anymore as I invested in an aerograph to get rid of them (I live in an appartement) but I mostly use Vallejo product including their primers.

If you need a comparison, I’d say they’re similar to the army painter range : great priming surface, 100% colour match to the bottle ref.

So yes you can use their spray range to prime and base caot all at once.

It’s all personal but I’m pretty happy with a 6×4 mat.

If you dig into the scenarios provided, there’s no need to go further for standard games but if it suits you to go big with custom scenario you can use more space.

One option is to get two mats that can be used side by side with one being see/ocean while the other is inland with one of the two hosting the coast.

It would also be very thematic.

Midway includes the Air Strike rule set indeed so no need for this extra buy.

Very nice collection you have here.

I’m not sold on the practical aspect of the magnet but I can’t deny how tremendous it is when it comes to give a cinematic feel on the pictures.

    Really great work you did.

It does not looks like there is any 1/200 model produced but, you never know.

Nowadays, 3D print could be the option to bypass such restrictions. So if you have access to such technology I’d suggest to have a search around.

    Nice one indeed.

I don’t know what Steve’s used but I’m pretty happy with the Vallejo metal paint from the Air range.

I used Chrome Metallic 71064 for my Mustangs.

    From the last WG’s newsletter:

We want to thank everyone who has pre-ordered the brand new Blood Red Skies starter set and associated releases. Demand has been sky-high! For those who have already pre-ordered – Good news! You will still receive your new aircraft this month.

However, as a result of the high demand the Midway starter set and all related releases will be unfortunately delayed slightly until November, which does at least give you extra time to take advantage of our pre-order bundles and nab the exclusive Catalina miniature, if you have yet to do so.

Didn’t checked everything but if you follow the guidelines for war period and zone of conflict provided in the rulebooks, Numbers should have been given to the Yaks.

Random can leads to highly unbalanced games but you have to keep in mind that BRS has been thought to provide the reality of those aerial fights. Enemies didn’t called each others prior to engage to each others to agree on a balance force ^^. Don’t forget that the main point in air combat is not to kill every single enemy plane but to force the enemy to break combat before you have to. So sometime being outnumbered ends in a victory anyway.

I think that you should follow those guidelines for the first play as you’ll learn how those card impact a force and its counterpart then go to more self created forces as you’ll know what are strength and weakness of your planes.

About which planes and level, the card state that you must match the most prevalent for both planes type and pilots level. If you got equal numbers I would say go for lower points each time as ,in my opinion, the Numbers card makes sense for weaker forces. I would even argue that usually numbered forces (not only in air fight) is a way to compensate weaker trainer soldiers but people with better historical knowledge may prove me wrong.

Also, from what I’ve understood of several Andy’s interview, the game is not aimed for competitive play at its core but more prone to be home ruled so everyone can enjoy it.

I’ve checked the links and I confirm Oliver’s issue.

The main page is loading fine but when clicking to any of the rulebook links, I’m redirected to the store loading the good page but instantly replaced by a 404 one.

    Nice to read as usual.

As the newsletter just provide more details about the content I just noticed that the Zero are M2 while the one available since BoB release are M5.

Models are obviously different sculpts as the new are made of Warlord Resin but I don’t know if there’s much visual difference (as far as I know the main upgrades were engine and guns).

My take on this would be:

    – strafing: hit only

    – bombing: hit and critical

EDIT: second reading makes me consider that the bombing extra hit may be optional depending on the target type and could be agreed at the start of the scenario.
