    On the note about submarines… they are a class of ship + its a trait.  So the same overlap rules apply to everything with a base….

    My point about the objectives is change it up and make it so that going evade all the time puts you at a tactical dis-advantage

    Well dont forget that you also half your avalible flank speed* when you do an evade order (so a ship with flank 5 drops to 3) & it also means you are limited to 1 45deg turn (unless agile or you start at speed 7).  It alsom means that unless the ship is a destroyer it cant gain the -1 for speed, so yes you are forcing a re-roll…. but whats…[Read more]

  • The simple answer is it doesnt!  But thats because radar is only used on surfaced subs, and other surface vessels, and not submereged /Deep Diving Subs.   This is why I call submarines not on th board ‘hidden’…. and thinking about it, instead of detected it should really be called discovered.

    Base rims…either do a colour band for squads or do something on the bases themselves

     

    British army doesn’t really do squad markings ….or even company / battalion for infantry (tanks do though)

    Wouldnt you have to test for the mortar shell exploding on an empty floor?  If so then its just the foot print of the building they need to move 2″ away from

    IIRC indirect might explode on the roof or any floor

    A common house rule (which I may put into a Wardroom FAQ) is that base to base is always point blank range irrespective of the actual distance.

    1, yes models out of line of sight can be hit

    2, correct… all modifiers apply when direct firing IF you hit then you place the template.

    3a, if you target the unit so you would need 6s as they are in hard cover.

    The biggest impact of the tarento raid wasnt the material damage but rather the psychological effects.  At Pearl Harbour the psychological effects had the opposite effect and instead of making the US fearful of the Japanese it made them angry / venganceful

  • the game isnt ganular enough for that level.  so 3-4 guns is a half battery, 6-8 a standard and 12+ is a large (russian) one.  With the guns being classified as battalion, light /Horse, foot, and heavy/siege.
