Hi, Re the discord – AP is a new game (less than 6 months since release at the start of April), and WL have released a number of games that start popular then die off so the mods of the discord are waiting to see the longevity of the game. Again here on the Forum I think theres been less than half a dozen threads.
Now about the game:
Yes the g…[Read more] -

Also the other things to consider
1) default game size (example lists & play test point) as confirmed by marcion the juggernauts podcast this week) is 1250
2) (as said by the author in April in the release article) there’s wide scale re-pointing and rule changes
Marcus also said so use v2 rules and points to see what a v3 list will look…

Well the new generic platoon structure (outside of FAOs) is more historical. Now one size fits all doesnt work but most of the time /for most nations this works
MMGs & HMGs were in a weapons platoon along with the heavier mortars, only the LMGs and light mortars were in platoons. Tanks and artillery were not attached singularly to infantry b…[Read more]

Well WL are doing a Tournament recommendations …. but you’ll find that the TO will decide once they have the rules in their hands… they may bin the official platoons and say use the v2 ones <shrugs> who knows

one other restriction – you can only have as many multiples of any Platoon type as you have Rifle Platoons. For example, if you want to field two Armoured Platoons, you’ll need two Rifle Platoons, and so on. Other than that – the choice is yours! [/quote]now without the writen rules – this is just Marcus’ chat about it… it reads that i…[Read more]

we dont know what rules are changing
we dont know HOW the costs are changing
we dont know how unit composition is changing … it could be that compulsory choices must be taken at full strength.
etc etcall in all it looks like a good change for gaming groups. The…[Read more]

It’s part of the long lance national rule…
There’s a house rule that goes if the bases are touching (or a few mm shy) you count as being in short range unless your weapon would be point blank…. So touching doesn’t mean your turret can hit that DD, but does mean your torp stands a chance of working

facebook – a lot of US regions have their own FB group – & word of mouth / hosted by LGS or gaming groups.
So all I can say is if you get your stuff from a game store ask in there.

the missions all have a priority which gives you an extra 10% points, the agreed points or loses you 10% points…. for competative gaminng priority levels are normally ignored.
Erm… points…. yeah…. with the rulebook points I can take 3 different IJN Destroyers (DDs in short) all for the same 60 points and get 3 completely different type of…[Read more]

side note … do look in the ‘news from the wardroom’ as it was worked out that the starter set is NOT designed to have all the ships on the table at the same time. But rather give you the ships to do the 3 levels of priority as fleet can have (pg 21 in the starter booklet)

Next, I’d never take 2 bodyguards on a HQ unit. This is because you go above a 2 man unit and no longer gain the -1 to hit modifier which is one of the biggest defenses of a unit.
secondly I’d take a bodyguard with the FAO, because the extra wound is always useful. Out of preferance I’d give him a rifle because you want him hanging back as h…[Read more]
